also yeah, working out of town is inherently expensive. and that's even WITH my per diem (which was pretty generous with the union). you'd basically blow all your per-diem on hotel and food expenses. everything else came out of your own pocket. most people don't understand that 5 days in your average hotel is gonna be $300-600 depending on location. then a half-decent dinner is gonna run $30-70 per night (unless you wanna eat taco bell goyslop every fuckin day after work). i actually think i LOST money working for otis elevator. simply because of the driving, hotels, dining, expenses, etc.
