There was this musical episode and I'll admit when I first watched it I was cringing so hard. But it ends up being the best episode. It describes Kai's people. How they developed an immortality treatment and it wrecked their society. They weren't invulnerable, just immortal, so they could still die from sickness and injury. It made them extremely risk averse to everything. If you think that through it makes sense. Even small chances at death (like an airplane crash) become almost certain once you live so long. In the end his people were conquered because they had too few people willing to fight (and die), expect the young.

>>223352414It's amazing. There nothing like it when it comes to craziness but also bleakness. The dying universe it portrays is absolutely insane. As to why it's not really well known, it wasn't that popular back when it aired (let's be honest, a show like that can't really have mass appeal), and afterwards there has always been a barrier of goofiness and low budget and extremely cheap CGI that it has.
>>223352709Yeah, I feel like they really leaned too much into the cheapness of the production. It's got the appearance of a live-action kids show or a Sid and Marty Kroft production, which is at odds with the super bleak storylines. You either vibe with it or don't.
