It depends, it's very different from the first 2 seasons of G1. I remember not liking it as much as a kid but I rewatched it as an adult recently and really liked it a lot. You'll enjoy it a lot more if you let go of the seethe of Optimus dying and Rodimus being a thing. Rodimus spends the entire season trying to be as good as Optimus but he just ultimately isn't, which I actually like because he is a very different kind of leader compared to Optimus. Optimus is a charismatic and idealistic leader during an epic wartime, whereas Rodimus is basically dead inside because he got Optimus killed and now has to shoulder the massive responsibility of rebuilding Cybertron and overseeing diplomatic affairs between the autobots and random alien races when all he wants to do is be Hot Rod again after getting a taste of responsibility. It's funny, every time he gives away the matrix(happens more than once) and reverts back to Hot Rod he is stoked. I won't spoil much more but I actually like the crew in S3, its a bunch of space adventures with slightly more cynical characters than the first 2 seasons which makes for a different but still fun show imo. Worth a watch for how it ends at least
