You know, I like Far Beyond the Stars, but it works specifically BECAUSE it was so rare for Trek to drop the allegory, just do a no-bullshit episode about a real world problem, and do it to say, "man, shit was fucked up in the era when these actors were kids, and yeah there's still some problems today but it really puts into perspective how far we've come by comparison". Star Wars was fun dumb action pew pew but Star Trek was quiet intellectual and philisophical talks. Wrath of Khan hit like it did because it put a little pew pew into the franchise, and it kept creeping in through Best of Both Worlds, First Contact, etc. Those were "fan favorites" aka "me retard me like blinky lights and boom boom". When the old guard like Roddenberry, Braga, etc. left, the nu-Jews took over and said "we make money when we have big dumb pew pew shooty show" so they did that while adding token half-assed bits of stoner philosphy to pretend that Trek was still the Smart Person's Choice. JJ Abrams openly admitted that he only did Star Trek as a springboard to getting his hands on Star Wars. Soon, Trek will be indistinguishable from Star Wars, just a billion forgettable shows about crap watched by zero-IQ dogs who salivate at the Pavlovian bell of trademark brand names without noticing the food dish hasn't shown up for decades.

The endgame DS9 upscale might be a frame by frame denoising and upscaling. Not sure how it works when the motion compensation has already been done but the frames are then altered/enhanced and put back together though.
For some reason, Amazon Video can't skip all of Voyager's intro, it skips to when it's going through the Nebula. TNG and DS9 don't have this issue.
