LP killed numetal halfway through the era. I was onboard for KoRn, Limp Bizkit, Incubus, Rammstein, then these buttplugs came at the vanguard of the second wave and I was instantly turned off. I remember my gay Hot Topic mall goth friends being like "I'm not too sure about this Linkin Park" and I was like "I am, its fucking awful."And Slipknot, Godsmack, etc. followed with making the genre into some sort of unlistenable scary boi shit for guys who work at oil change places.
