J.K. Rowling is basically a race realist whether she knows it or not.Rereading the books with adult eyes was an interesting experience. You realize that the Slytherins and in fact the Death Eaters were no completely insane. They were essentially just stand-ins for wealthy racially pure bloodlines with master morality. Of course, the pro race-mixing protagonists had to win and the Slytherins/Death Eaters/Blacks had to be portrayed as pure evil because that's the culture that J.K. Rowling was mired in.
