I am working on some scripts that try to bring horror icons together. One of them is almost a West Wing + Network political thriller. (Here's a fun exercise, which horror icons have what political orientations and why?) Do you have any cool crossover ideas? Are you working on any screenplays?

>>223433719Thank you. I have been told I have a gift for coming up with cool concepts. Most may not be seen as commercially viable but I only need one to be a success to change my life and make a difference. For the record the movie is played almost entirely straight but you do still have humor moments that are true to characters like Chucky and Ghostface. Also there are characters that talk like Aaron Sorkin characters (and maybe even a stand in for Sorkin himself but you'll just have to wait and see) that get killed brutally. This is one political thriller that's to die for.
One challenge is how do you avoid just making characters like Michael, Jason, and Leatherface who are kind of just stupid muscle from being tools for other political characters and have them have their own agendas in a complex political world. But the alliances...The alliances are where it really comes together.
I'm surprised there isn't more appetite for crossover films.
I had a friend who is a horror fan tell me that all of the major horror icons would vote Democrat because he likes them and even though they are evil they are not THAT evil...Not my take (and would make for a terrible script) but that's what he said.

>>223435423The closest ones I would say are maybe Laurie Strode, Dr. Loomis, and Sidney Prescott. But Laurie Strode kinda stinks and Loomis and Prescott both still get overshadowed by the guys wearing the masks in those movies.
>>223435488pretty odd isn't it.in terminator there was Sarah Connor, and alien Ripley, but they're not quite horror, despite the first films roughly fitting.in critters there were the alien bounty hunters who appeared a couple of times, but the crites themselves are the recognisable part.they really should have done more ash vs films with different horror villains 25 years ago.
>>223435692Yes not having Ash do at least one versus film was a missed opportunity. Ash vs. Evil Dead was okay but you can't tell me it was a better setup to have him hanging out with Pablo and the Burger King kids club than facing off in an actual versus match.
