While I'm waiting he taps me on the shoulder and asks what happened since I had a portion of the back of head shaved and 7 fresh staples holding it closed as well as some other minor lacerations. I told him what happened and hes like "aww my man that's rough, I got this one on the set a couple weeks back" as he shows me what looks like a little scrape or cat scratch on his elbow.This was well before he would've been filming the falcon show so I had no idea what set he was talking about and didnt care to ask, but he followed up with "cant tell you which one tho" and then put on his stupid goofy looking puffy cheeked smile. He maintained that smile for a solid 3 seconds while we just looked at eachother before he said "I'm Anthony, Anthony Mackie". Started to feel really awkward at this point and my coffee and sandwich was placed on the counter as I shook his hand so I made what I thought was a smooth exit by saying "yeah man I thought I recognized you, cool" as I grabbed my shit then said I wouldnt keep him he must be busy so I'd get going. He gave me this weird slow "al-riiight" while bobbing his head with that stupid smile and I go to my usual seat in the corner.I'm scrolling through my emails and this nigger sits down across from me and places a plain glazed donut in front of me and says "I'm an old fashioned kind of guy myself". I dont remember what he started talking about because a set a 60 second timer on my phone and put it away and just started counting down the seconds while feigning interest. When the timer went off I said it was an urgent text and rushed out with my stuff, left the donut. Had to drive away to eat cuz he when I got to the car he was back at the window seat looking at me.

I have a real one and not a joke- you can tell because of how mundane and uninteresting it is.About 10-15 years ago (before he got cancelled) I was flying to New York out of Cleveland and I was waiting for my flight to board. I got there early and had some time to kill, so I was sitting there playing my Nintendo 3Ds in public- which I think normally would have been super embarrassing, but it was like 5 in the morning and I was literally the only person in the waiting area.that's when this guy walks in and sits on the other side of the waiting area from me, and HE ALSO pulls out a Nintendo 3Ds and starts playing it. I glance up and in my head I'm like, "...is that? ...is that Thomas Middleditch?" And you have to understand, this was like 2009, so he was only known to people who were REALLY into UCB and improv- he hadn't gotten on Silicon Valley yet. So the entire time we were waiting I kept eying him trying to get a good look and see if that was the guy. Anyways- we board and fly to New York- it was uneventful- but the way I knew it was him was because like 20 minutes after we landed I looked him up on twitter and he had just posted some super cringe 2000's bullshit like "New York! I am in you!" And this was literally the day of the start of something called The Del Close Marathon- it's an improv thing, so with all of those clues >playing video games in public>posting cringe on the timeline>traveling to New York just in time for a super lame improve festivalI was like, "oh- yeah that was definitely the guy"
