This movie is a complete misrepresentation of the Amercian revolution while also mischaracterizing the British as egregiously despicable and I fucking love it. One of my favorite movies.

>>223441678It's a movie that inadvertently shows that it makes no sense to die for your country (which as Trudeau correctly observed is nothing more than an economic system), and which fully embraces paternalism (again, as Trudeau's Canada enforced by importing 10 million people from India). The protagonist enters the fray solely to protect what remains of his family, and to avenge his young dumb son who died for nothing. So in that sense protag's hand is forced and we're left to enjoy him tomahawking people who represent a sort of martial aristocracy amid the militarized farmers who eventually beat them. The only way you can feel patriotism watching his movie is if you randomly choose a side between a New World slave owning caste and the Old World military faction. If you know what you know now, that people the protag fought for were Masonic cultists who immediately upheld already highy developed Jewish slave trade and continued unabated import of hundreds of thousands bare ass black savages into the heartland of their supposedly beloved country, I'm not sure you'd feel right rooting for them. Because then you also know there's a sequel where these practices cause the bloodiest war in 19th century where the winning side immediately establishes mega corps we know today.
