Man, this reminds me. For some reason in 9th grade I used to be almost autistically obsessed with the movie To Kill a Mockbird. I would watch it every day after school for months on end. I remember I was really into drawing to. In english class most people had to write a whole whole thesis about whatever book they wanted to read. I wasnt doing to well in that class, I remember my teacher pulling me aside and saying if I can draw scenes from the book and give a brief synopsis of certain parts in the book. Never read the book. like 20 of them. Risked it and just drew my own visions of scenes from the movie. idk if she caught on but she gave me a A+. Felt so fucking good that a teacher actually believed in my drawing skills. I think that was more important then whatever lesson they were trying to teach me
