How do you rank these one man army films?1. John Wick2. Jason Bourne3. The EqualizerLook at the overall series not just individual films. DESU I kinda like Equalizer more even thought it has a weak part 2. Followed by Jason Bourne and lastly John Wick. Wick really dropped the ball at parts 3 and 4.

Truth is, we still have action films these days, The Beekeeper is an action film and exactly nothing about it is remarkable or interesting. MCU movies are kinda sorta action films and sometimes the action in them is decent yet they're complete corporate stagnation in their form. The thing with John Wick is that a real set of human minds genuinely sat down to think about martial arts, shooting, visual aesthetics and character writing to actually make an action movie worthy of the 21st Century. The japanese jiu-jitsu takedowns, the Center Axis Relock shooting system, the kinda neon-noir descendant of noir film paired with John Woo pastiche action. Silly as it may be and shitty as Keanu's vocal performance usually is, even the character beats are functional for a normie audience.21st Century films have sooooo much in supposed technology but just serve a turd on a plate of the same Rings of War-tier fight coreopgraphies and digital film making that looks like shit, CGI effects made in a sweatshop in thailand and seagal-tier characters. Shit like John Wick, Hardcore Henry and The Raid are the few action movies pushing the technical form, they could have spear-headed a new age of commercial entertainment if the giant oligarchs hadn't cursed us with MCU autism forever.Enjoying these movies is a civic duty.

Top notch action sequences? You could just mute the film every time someone talks and have the same level of enjoyment. I’m also a fan of the genre of “random henchmen getting the shit beat of them in a nightclub” so it has that in spades

In trying to flesh out the underground assassin scene they made the whole operation too big in a way that simply doesn't make sense. By the second movie it stopped being even halfway feasible that it took place in our world as opposed to some fantasy planet where every man, woman, and child is a trained killer. And don't get me started on the misfire with Arab king of the world they had to recast and kill in the beginning of the fourth movie.
