Because all the wars we've been in since the Thirty Years War ended terribly for us, and it doesn't help that a bunch of them were ones that we started. Inthinknat this point most Germans realize that whole "war" thing isn't working out for us.

They haven't made any pro-German WW2 movies since the war because they've been under Allied occupation for 80 years and there are literally laws against portraying their own army positively, or even just telling the truth about WW2. For example, a movie that isn't overtly pro-German but portrays Allied war crimes will still run afoul of the laws against rehabilitating "Nazism."

The recent AQOTWF makes the common German soldier sympathetic by depicting the war as a "lions led by lambs" scenario, with career-minded generals hiding in opulent mansions while the grunts get killed in the trenches. This is also how some British WW1 dramatizations depict our side of the conflict (notably in Blackadder 4).German filmmakers could do the same thing for WW2 if they wanted. Pin the blame for the bad stuff on the Nazi high command while having the soldiers simply be soldiers. The reason this doesn't happen is possibly a lack of demand. Would a German WW2 bring enough Germans to the cinema to turn a profit? I imagine most are probably tired of hearing about the war.
