I got 3 eps in and thought it was dumb because the games are unfair and the people would win by complete asspulls. At least Squid Games has a very solid set of rules explained from the start, there's no confusion.

Kaiji is still the best of the genre. I liked Squid Game more than AiB but mostly because the author couldn't decide if he wanted the explanation to be supernatural or not and ultimately settled on some inconsistent shitty mix of both.Squid Game S2's biggest problem was trying to explain the logistics of the game. The series works best as a fairy tale-esque story where the evil corporation has infinite money and the workers are all mindless zombies who are perfect at everything. Revealing that random grunts are sniping the contestants during red light/green light introduces way too much human error (what if they hit the wrong person by mistake? What if they choose to save someone?) and the idea of the games being able to spy on literally everything but also somehow miss the body snatching operation really stretches suspension of disbelief.
