At the same time John Kramer is like the Freddy of the franchise, they can't really get rid of him. They tried to have someone succeed him several times, but no is as captivating as Tobin Bell in that role. They boxed themselves in. Once Tobin dies, so does the franchise probably. Not that they won't try, naturally.

One of them wanted AI Jigsaw and the other one wanted Female Jigsaw but both were going to be twists and for most of the movie you would think it was Normal Jigsaw.

Saw will be the first horror series ever to get to 11 main movies in the same continuity with theatrical releases. It also has to reinvigorate the series. The pressure is incredible.
