Why do the "good guys" have terrible aesthetics?
Could they be cool for once?

OT seems like the epitome "rule of un-cool".
And all post-SW scifi franchises seems to fall in this too (Halo's overdesign spartans, C&C samurai, Destiny' human armors, Starship Troopers, Half-Life's combine, Alien 3's W-Y commando, Panem's soldier, TWD Commonwealth's soldier; Fallout's armors, etc).

Terribly subjective, have you seen the latest astronaut suits? They're designed to look cool, yet I'll take the old soviet/US gear in a heartbeat, question of taste.

The Tesla ones? I think they look alright, way better than the scifi ones.
But that is the point of my thread, why scifi is sooo aesthetically uncool?
