My Darling Clementine is the comfiest Western. The contrast between the Wyatt Earp story of chaos and vengeance and the bigger picture of a society slowly forming real justice in the Wild West, and how Earp builds that society but doesn't fit in it, is really well done and makes for countless comfy scenes.
