S1 was so good. What went wrong in S2? I just ended it and the dialogue was beyond terrible, the acting was even worse and the characters unless Mark were terrific and uninteresting.

The problem exists in all shows that have middle seasons. They have no plans to end it, and pray the train keeps running year after year because getting a new job sucks ass. So everything is padded out filler bullshit. Easy to do with a show like Severance. Add in a bunch of moody shots, some Lynchian time wasting types of shit, end each episode on some kind of cliffhanger. Then everyone just forgets what happens in that episode and keeps looking forward to next week. They write out certain goals each season needs to achieve and pad around that. The first and last season need to be planned out ahead of time. Then again, there's shows that did that like How I Met Your Mother and the last season payoff was just ass. Same thing with Game of Thrones.

i was binge watching severance until season 2. the first episode of season 2, with the completely ignorance of the previous season, and cast swap, you have to be a giant retard to keep watching it at that point.
