that would've been a better arc and conclusion than the vague nonsense at the end of 3. it should've gone this dark route where the machines were basically toying with humans, hunting them, giving them false hope, etc. and of course there are some machines who want to study humans, sympathize with them as their creators who deserve to be preserved, just in a small controlled enviro. and they accept that this enviro requires some leeway since it's human nature (and animal, and Ai nature) to want to escape containment. they could've milked infinite fuckin movies and shows from OP's post, but instead they went the brain-dead normie mainstream approach which fizzled out.even the most recent game looks like shit because the MC is a black chick instead of neo or one of the cooler original team members. everything is so fucked it's maddening.
