Do you squat 500lbs? Do you imagine yourself strangling other people?

Watched this at least around 20 years ago and I'm afraid to go back and it doesn't live up to my recollection.

I watched it for the first time a few months ago. Everyone gives pretty great performances, especially Cruise and John C Reily. The story is kind of shit though, having to loosely tie a bunch of non sequiturs together with the ending twist sucked. I don't like how grimy and depressing the film tried to be either.

nta but I think it'd work better as a smaller movie with just character studies of these loosely related people that doesn't try to have some big supernatural event tying them all together and giving them magical closure to their issues
