Yes, this is a widely agreed upon opinion. It's kind of a fatal flaw for a guy that's basically just a decent pop writer with some cool ideas plot-wise. He's never had anything whatsoever to say thematically so the plots flopping in the end is kind of a big deal. But I guess most people don't care about that somehow.
