Watched Resident Evil: Welcome To Raccoon CityI guess this is about as close to a faithful adaptation as we're ever going to get. Had elements from RE1, 2 and even Code Veronica. Good cast except for some obvious ones like Jill and Leon for "reasons" I guess. Didn't like that they tried to make Wesker a somewhat sympathetic character and Leon an absolute imbecile. Very good movie though. Will watch the new Res Evil movie whenever it hits streaming but I'm not expecting much after seeing this one.

I have the same issue with Filino's recent Star Wars stuff, where it sorta feels like a kid playing with toys rather than making something competent or compelling while still being accurate/respectful to the material. I think had the director/writer shown more restraint he could have just given us a very good adaption of the first game instead of mashing together bits of multiple and sorta losing the impact of each as a result. But again, I need to rewatch it.

Just finished Dagon. Overall I enjoyed it but it wasn't as good as The Shadow over Innsmouth. I wish they hadn't changed the story so much and that it had been made ~10 years earlier to avoid the ugly CGI.
