>>223539980Make a Wish was cute because the FL is cute but there wasn't enough of that to fill 24 episodes. So you get a heavy dose of the second couple which I had zero interest. More broadly most cdramas are boring as hell. Almost finished with Hidden Love and its a snoozer. It does portray innocent and immature love well (the older ML who acts all wise and shit but clearly hasn't been around women much, the younger girl is the mature one) Thats not saying most current kdramas are any better but for a different reason. They are now caught up in trying to be crass and shocking using a Hollywood playbook. Thing is its not like we all haven't seen male and female libertines on screen before.

The director wanted 24 eps and Tencent wanted 30. Who won is obvious and you can see where they stretched shit out. I think the middle ends up with the best pacing. If you can bear that, it's pretty good imo. The acting is good, the story is interesting, and I enjoyed that the game CGI did actually look like a video game.
