In The Sopranos Sessions (2019), Matt Zoller Seitz and Alan Sepinwall were interviewing Chase about the ending. Zoomer here.I recently finished all 6 seasons. Tony got murdered by Plauie and the Twin. Tony has no true friends left. Also it’s in opposition to his friend who found happiness mainly in family. Tony found happiness in destruction. I think throughout the series God or whatever you want to call it is judging Tony another level compared to you and I. It’s strange one more Tony seems like someone you can relate because oh he’s normal compared to his friends. Then another you’re reminded his pretends to be normal yet he’s the worst one on this show. I think what finally sealed his fate was not him accepting the universe is cruel and in different in the desert. It’s that he forgot the advice he gave his son in season 1. Or he’s pretending to. That’s what sealed his fate. Not the therapy. Not the crimes. Not the endless sins. Just like Satan“Oh me?”I think God lost his shit and used his crew to murder him in blood infront his family.
