BARK BARK BARK BARK BARK BARK
>>223544966If you haven't seen it, watch RL Stine's The Haunting Hour. It's like Goosebumps but a hundred times better and can be legitimately creepy even when watching as an adult
Its the year 2038you're watching A.I generated episodes of Are you afraid of the dark crossed over with Salute your shorts. You are 60 years old but still goonin' to the girls like it was 1994

spooky doge
it's only FIVE barks you POSER
>>223544966that's one too many barks
>>223545045I need to start getting healthy to see the gritty future...Just one more 2 liter of soda, then Im off it for good, I swear
>>223544966anyone who grew up in the 90s will be the envy of all future generations
>>223545055>>223545054FUCK
>>223544966this show has so many icsh boys
>>223545072Imagine if being a 90's kid somehow made your sperm valuable to women and they wanted their own 90's kid DNA kid
I really like the effeminate whisper at the end of the opening when he says "sneeed bumpss"
Never liked the TV show as a kid. I remember 10 year old me bitching about how they're not like the books and how they ruined the stories. I was obsessed with the book series and read every single one.
>>223545130I read all the books as well and I thought they mostly kept the same tone.
>>223545130reading goosebumps books while dinner was being cooked was comfy as hell
>>223544966That dog is dead now
>>223545143as someone who read all the original run of books minus a few that looked uninteresting, the show felt corny and unspooky where as in the book you could immerse yourself and get that spooky vibe goin
>>223545163yeah it's been 30 years. A lot of people from back then are also dead.
scariest ep?
>>223545167The books themselves were pretty corny and unspooky to be honest.
>Cause you can't, you won't, and you don't stop>'Cause you can't, you won't, and you don't stop>Well, you can't, you won't, and you don't stop>Mike D, come and rock the sure shot
>>223545143I like the show now, mostly for the camp value. But they cut out a lot of content and many of the best scenes from the books are either softened or omitted entirely for being too dark or too weird. And it's extremely low budget, as a kid it didn't fit the way I imagined the books so I hated it.
>>223545167Agreed. The books could be cheesy and goofy, certainly, but they were far, far spoopier and more atmospheric than the show.
>>223545002It's the only thing to look forward to.
>>223545130

>>223545256I sometimes get the urge to re-read some after 25 years or w/e. the one that always pops into my head is Horrorland. that picture really did it for me.I heard they dont put the goosebumps on the books anymore that you can feel, LAME.
>>223545271We'll see how controlled that shit gets by then.>No sorry, A.I generation is only for commercials to sell your stuff and propaganda by the government!
>>223545154>staying up till 4am reading Goosebumps under the covers with a flashlightGreat memories. Pic Related was my favorite
>>223545391You think the jews that control AI companies don't realize the untapped potential? They won't waste that shit on just commercials. We're getting pure degenerate kino in a few years courtesy of Mr. Kikestein.
>>223545368You should check out the audiobooks. Scholastic has released audiobook versions of every single classic Goosebumps book. I have them all on Audible
>>223545368This was the most popular hardest to find one
>>223545368I mistook this one for the Give Yourself Goosebumps CYOA book where you break into an abandoned and haunted carnival. I still remember the "ending" where you take a wrong turn in a crawl maze and get stuck going back and forth between two pages forever. It might have been my first existential crisis, kek.
>>223545464The only one of those I read was the summer camp one. Wasn't bad actually.
>>223545405>they're watching you learn>the hard waythe frick is this one about
>>223544991>76 episodes>ive literally never heard of itWhat da hell?
>>223545464>pick up Give Yourself Goosebumps Book>make a choice and turn to the right page>WHAT? ARE YOU RETARDED? YOU CAN'T DO THAT. GO BACK TO THE LAST PAGE YOU WERE ON
>>223544966Oh no this is the show that gave me a fucking weight gain fetish fuck this show
>>223545428mite b cool>>223545433my friend gave me his horrorland lcd game I used to stare at it in the lightwish i still had it

>>223545489A kid at a new school is told about how when the school first opened, the inaugural class all disappeared and were never seen again. He eventually discovers that they were trapped in alternate dimension where everything is in black and white, and they've gone mad after being trapped for so long
Do they not put out kid horror books anymore? Obviously no tv shows for whatever reason but horror anthologies seem like too much effort for the streamera besides black mirror i guess
>>223544966you just dont understand seeing this for the first time during peak suburban culture in the 90's. windows open with the fall breeze and chilling with no nightmare world on the horizon. you will never experience comfyness like this in your life
>>223545581Interesting concept, thanks.>>223545640They released FEAR STREET movies a few years ago which is like older teen version of goosebumps. They are dogshit tho
>>223545640R.L. Stine is still writing books. He never stopped. Just don't expect the same quality as classic Goosebumps or even Goosebumps Series 2000.
>>223545666And what of good sir jacobuss? What news of him?
>>223544991nice. never even heard of this.
>>223544991>RL Stine's The Haunting Hour.Someone mentions this every goosebumps thread and then I forget to watch it.
>>223544966You wouldn't believe what my younger sister used to get up to with our dog in the 90s.
>>223545666>R.L. Stine is still writing books.Always assumed he was more of a ghost writer brand like nancy drew or the one with the male twins. But wow way more goosebump books than I was previously aware of. Wonder if there is a fun youtube review channel for them since I cant imagine how many must be absolute dogshit
The first Goosebumps media should have been a high budget movie and gave it a real shot like Harry Potter. Doing this show first cheapened it.
>>223545755The books weren't really popular enough to warrant a big budget movie
>>223545735The only "evidence" that he uses ghost writers is the accusation by Scholastic Books during their legal battle with Stine, and they were never able to prove it. Stine insists he wrote every single one himself. And considering how short the books are, it's believable that he wrote them all. It takes 90 minutes or less to read one of them
>>223545771The only book series that has sold more copies is Harry Potter
>>223544966based
>Book: I'm chubby with red hair in a ponytail and my friend Mike is short with curly brown hair and glasses>Show: Here's two gormless Canadian wiener kids that just showed up on the day
>>223545771>The books weren't really popular enough to warrant a big budget movie???????????I'm not saying you're lying but thats hard to believe.
>>223544966Actually, it was 5 barkst. subvocalizer
>>223545788The books were shit anon I don't know what to tell you. Harry Potter was too. Us Millenial kids had dogshit taste.
>>223545818-_-get out and stay out zoomboy
>>223545797who the fuck are you calling gormless you faggot
>>223545830But I'm older than you are.
>>223545818anon pls, zoomers can't read. give it up, you have shit taste and will always be reminded

>>223545072Future generations will grow up being told that everything was always bad and even worse than today. Young people already believe this.
>>223546030>you cant scare me 37i remember that one being decent
>>223546073The ending is great, the rest of the book is just decent. The only ones I would say are truly bad are 50-62
>>223544966The best episode is a day at horrorland.
>>223545002That malfoid trend is having some ai generated vids that are pretty good. I think we're close. Gooner vids for all nostalgia
>>223546030I think I read about 10 of them because that's what I could get my hands on from the school library and borrowing from a friend. Don't remember them well enough to rank them though did you reread all of these as an adult or something?>One Day at HorrorlandI think that one was my favourite.
>>223545818Don't blame me. I knew Harry Potter was forced shit from day one. I still remember when we had a book fair at school and suddenly Harry Potter shit was everywhere and everyone was acting like it was the biggest shit ever even though none of us kids knew wtf it was. Absolutely astroturfed.
>>223546194>Don't remember them well enough to rank them though did you reread all of these as an adult or something?I was just bored one day and thought, what if I read every classic Goosebumps book and then made a ranking of them. So that's what I did. And I had so much fun that I then listened to the audiobook versions of every single book, and now I re-read or re-listen to a good number of them every October. I'd like to say I'm the number one expert on them now, but I'm sure there are turboautists out there that would school me.
unlock the memory anon. wake up.
>>223546244Rank the cyoa books
>>223545100kek
I've been reading goosebumps to my ||2 year old kid|| and they finally understand enough to tell me it's "too scary" so I had to stop :(We only made it 5 books in. I'm gonna try to read the next two this month because 7 is night of the living dummy ||yes they are original copies|| we had to take a long pause because my copy of Say Cheese and Die ended up having a misprint where it doubled 30 pages towards the end so it skipped the 30 pages that should have been there and it was on hold at our library. At least I can say that they're still popular
>>223546327nigga goosebumps is for 9 and up
>>223545640The only new kids books are dogman, nobody is really trying to enter those spaces anymore because it is perceived to have a lot of competition+parents are so overbearing that publishers are scared to put something out that could be considered offensive. It's all gay shit about black people's hair and how you need to be friends with the cripples.
>>223546300I tried to read those too but most of them are awful and I gave up. The Series 2000 books are good though. Attack of the Graveyard Ghouls is up there with the very best of the classic series
>>223546200>suddenly Harry Potter shit was everywheresorcerer's stone was pretty omnipresent. snape kills dumbledore, you bitch.
>>223546327jesus christ I need to go to sleep I can't believe I just did discord spoilers on 4chan>>223546357I know that but reading anything is what matters and they had no fucking idea what I was actually reading before recently. I read them the road man, they aren't going to remember shit from 7 months old. But now they can follow a string of sentences so me reading about the boy being lost in the dark pyramid is "too scary"
is eerie indiana good
>>223546654No, it's fantastic
>>223546738then why is there never talk about it huh buddy. trying to trick me again?im on to you.
Which was spookier?
Is R.L Stein a tard? He talks like he is.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ninOcFI33Ek
For me it's the episode where two kids stay at their grandpa's house in the middle of a swamp or remote forest (I forgot which) and they have to defend themselves against this really kino monster

>>223545797>Here's two gormless Canadian wiener kids that just showed up on the dayi never noticed the amount of canadian accents there was on goosebumps until i rewatched an episode recently. it's ruined for me, i fucking hate leafs.

>>223546400Nta but I remember it being pushed really hard from the jump too. I remember it specifically because I first heard of it when pokemon had just come out, and it was on the cover of scholastic order forms and in the book fairs.
aiiiiieeee there's too many jumpscares and I cant turn my volume down or else I can't undertstand anything
>>223544966>>223544991>loved the books as a kid>still have like 20 of them at my parent's house somewhere>never once watched the showdoes it hold up?
