Btw those major deaths will be classic Xmen so they can reboot them with younger actors

9/11 should never happen in comics. Not only would someone have stopped it, the destruction pales in comparison to the other shit NY goes through in the DC or Marvel Universes.

Yes, it's the 3,543,345th retarded thing to happen in comic books.
Which is why he has it saved.
>>
>>223567763
Comic books did the same thing with "HE'S DEAD OH WAIT THERE'S ANOTHER ONE FROM ANOTHER UNIVERSE." Multiverse shit destroys the permanence of everything in capeshit.

>>223567883
They are. The most successful post-Endgame movie is Deadpool and Wolverine. All the "new wave" shit like Shangi-Chi, Eternals, Shuri-Panther, Ironheart, and Pedro Elastico were either underperformers or outright flops. But they don't want to abandon that stuff, so they're bundling it in with Thor and Steve Rogers to force the audience to give their bullshit a try.
>>
>>223567599
Who cares.
>>
>>223568112
The 9/11 is definitely worse though because at least goofy campy shit like that is harmless.
The 9/11 shit completely breaks the setting which makes it even funnier. I guess Spidey just couldn’t be bothered saving them that day
>>
>>223567599
Death scenes lose their impact the more you do them. No one wants to sit through 6 of them in the same movie.
>>
>>223567915
It's kind of crazy in context that Magneto would just be standing there "mourning" the deaths of 9/11 and not helping
>>

>The 9/11 shit completely breaks the setting which makes it even funnier. I guess Spidey just couldn’t be bothered saving them that day
The Avengers were in on 9/11 and ensured none of the street-level heroes could help

the last two spider-man films out-grossed dp&w btw
inb4 THAT WAS SNOY REEEEE
>>223568198
the death scenes in doomsday will be fruitless because everyone is coming back for secret wars and then doom will be defeated and they'll all still be alive, just sent back to their respective universes so it's not overcrowded and will allow for recasts

Nah, they'll use this as an opportunity to get rid of parallel Universes, which are almost (but not quite) as annoying and cheap as time-travel plots.
>>
>>223568294
Millennials crying over spider-man in infinity war made me so confused. They didn't know he was coming back?
>>
What's extra stupid is that they have both Branching Timelines AND Alternate Dimensions.
Which is turbo gay and confusing.
The Eternals were another thing that never should have been introduced, if you were gonna have all those pantheons in Love and Thunder.
>>
>>223568318
It's call immersion. Escapism. Whatever.

The only good thing to come out of that Flash movie catastrophe is clearly illustrating how gay and annoying such plot-lines are.
In the end, Flash just says "Meh, that other reality is gay, it can just die or something" and quits, remembering that the whole point was to keep his Dad out of jail (and not save his Mom, or even figure out whodunit).

Totally gay plot device. MCU needs to cut it the fuck out. You can't have The Watcher spectating infinite parallel realities AND the TVA monitoring branching timelines. Really you should do neither.

>>
>>223567883
No shit, everyone knew they were desperate when it leaked RDJ was coming back. It got even worse when we found out Evans was coming back too. I'm surprised they haven't dug up stan lee to parade his corpse around
>>
>>223567599
Right, death is relevant on the movie RDJ comes back after a decade of Tony Stark´s death. Fucking morons. Not only death is irrelevant on capeshit but it can only affect characters that can´t be further milked.

Capeslop drama is cheap because there are no real lasting consequences. These things are not movies. They are, at best, forgettable content.
>>
>>223568426
Given how they handled Tarkin and Leia in Star Wars, they might completely unironically try using a CGI puppet of him at some point. I cannot imagine a moral line they wouldn't cross in the name of profit.
>>
>>223568426
>>223568439
In this way, the MCU is absolutely true to comics.
It's rather silly to hate the core tropes of a genre.
Just don't watch them?
>>
>>223567751
His Xavier has died in more movies than he hasn’t
>>
>>223568460
He'll never surpass how many times Xavier has been dead in comics though.
>>
>>223567599
I hope it's all beloved, problematic characters or characters that were liked by people that the Marxists deem problematic.
>>
>>223568456
yeah it's true to the comics but the comics resurrect popular characters in order to save on making new characters and also make some kind of money
it's the same reason superheroes stopped killing, not because of some high moral ground bullshit (that came later) but so writers wouldn't have to invent new villains every week

in a film things feel more finite, more real, and the stakes should reflect that. it's why endgame still gets such a high buzz, black widow & thanos have stayed permadead and we're better off because of it

you can do some variant stuff here and there like with loki but it it's just "oh we need iron man? let's call in iron man 223" it weakens the sacrifices made. this is why star wars sucks now.

Yes, we both know that. DC has a habit of hiring High School dropouts as writers.
Imagine making a comic about a scientist creating Metal-Men super-advanced robots in a SCIENCE comic, and not bothering to look up that Lead being "the heavy one" is stupid on a team that includes Gold, Platinum and Mercury.
>>
>>223568754
>and not bothering to look up that Lead being "the heavy one" is stupid on a team that includes Gold, Platinum and Mercury.
lead is clearly the fat one you nonce
>>
>>223568621
Anon take a moment to think about the joke
>>
>>223568794
He's got girth, sure. regardless he's the 4th heaviest, even if you factor in his extra volume.
Mercury being touted as "the metal man who's liquid at room temperature" is also rather pointless as they are all roughly Plastic Man levels of ductile.
>>
>>223568802
i think you're confusing weight with density. yeah the others will sink like stones immediately upon impact but that doesn't change the fact that lead is a fat fuck and comics are still largely a visual medium first and foremost. i agree with the notion that the creator likely didn't pass the 8th grade but it doesn't change the fact that the visual language is tight.
>>
>>223568828
I'm saying that volume of Mercury weighs more than that larger volume of Lead is what I am saying. Being a fatass of a lighter metal does not make him weigh more than the others.
>>
>>223567599
Can this slop just die already
>>
>>223567599
Darker than Solo? Maybe they should fire the cinematographer.
>>
It would be kind to say he's chonky enough to weigh roughly the same as Gold and Platinum, regardless his entire role on the team is being "the heavy one".
Really the whole team concept is stupid; Lead and Mercury are highly toxic metals, Gold and Platinum are practically redundant, Tin at least was intended to be worthless comedy relief.
>>
>>223568205
>t's not the camp factor at all; it's the fact that Superman is rubbing one off to heat metal, when one of his 3 most famous powers is HEAT VISION.
Did he have heat vision at the time? That's one of the powers that writers later added to his repertoire.
>>
>>223568850
It can be dead for you. It will probably be half the threads when it's in theaters, but that leaves you the other half of the board to sulk in. Then we shall all move on.
>>
>>223568847
anon, you still don't get it. nobody gives a fuck about scientific accuracy in comics. they see a fat guy, they think OHOHOHO WHAT A FATASS
>>
>>223568881
Superman got heat vision before 1950
>>
>>223568889
I get that it's a moron writing for morons, but a SPECK of science accuracy would be nice in a SCIENCE comic about science adventurers.
>>
>>223567599
The Multiverse concept will ensure that the stakes are lowered. The Multiverse is an inherently slop concept.
>>
>>223568318
I'm a Millennial and I didn't cry over Spidey in Infinity War. I knew he was coming back. Even Disney/Sony isn't retarded enough to permanently kill a character as popular as Spider-Man.
>>
>>223568931
Best Case Scenario is that Doom Kills the Multiverse, leaving a single conglomerated Universe, which would make sense as Disney is literally trying to join together properties recovered from previous contracts to other studios.
>>
>>223568905
>Superman got heat vision before 1950
What are the dates for his first use of heat vision and the date of that panel? Genuinely curious.
>>
>>223568916
yes i agree with you but you're asking for way too much in a heavily jewish-owned, influenced and operated industry, these guys are all about bare minimum at minimum cost, which is why they hire the first cocksuckers they can get
>>
>>223568294
That's why the story ended at end game for me. I knew infinity gay was just going to come undo everything. This is why I never liked cape shit in the first place there's 0 stakes. Like batman refusing to kill joker. It's for babies.
>>
>Tobey Maguire Spidey and Wolverine are the only ones who survive with their memories
Holy kino
>>
>>223568955
I believe this too. Doom will probably collapse all of the non-MCU Marvel universes (X-Men, Tobey Maguire's Spider-Man, Blade, whatever) into a single universe to make the MCU less convoluted on a meta level.
>>
>>223569006
the whole point of batman not killing his enemies (nowadays) is that he's only one step removed from being just like them. if batman were to kill the joker, why should he stop there? all his rogues are crazy s-tier terrorist supervillains that should be executed without question, he knows he can't save or rejuvenate them. batman's quest is to quell that inner darkness, but of course that build-up will only lead to self-destruction and a violent explosion, so he lets off some steam by beating the ever-living fuck out of bad guys.
>>223569006
yeah the story ended at endgame because of the title and also the work put in building up to it was never gonna be repeated.
>>
>>223568082
Marvel comics is more "grounded" than DC comics where everyone lives in fictional citys like Metropolis or Gotham or atleast its supposed to be
Its suposed to be our world but with superheroes so 9/11 has to happen in the Marvel Universe even though it makes no sense for it to happen because realisticaly it could have easily been prevented
>>
>>223569006
Based, the MCU ended with Endgame for me too. Endgame even has the word 'end' in its title.
>>
>>223569120
>it makes no sense for it to happen because realisticaly it could have easily been prevented
all the more reason to not do a comic about it and instead just start drawing the skyline without the wtc
i mean fuck the sopranos was literally made during 9/11 and never once did the show acknowledge the attacks. the opening never changed but filming changed as the skyline was now different.
>>
>>223568931
Not really true. You can replace someone from another universe but that peeson wouldn't be the original and would never be.
>>
>>223567599

Imagine if they had the balls to do an r rated infinity war where the hero’s actually lose and it ends this franchise. I would be down but knowing marvel they have to make the hero’s win and milk this thing into oblivion
>>
>>223569382
this is supposed to be the last
just gonna be weird when he resurrects as a hispanic though
>>
>>223568456
I don´t. I just took issue because the phrasing tries to frame it as some sort of movie with actual dramatic depth when it has none. Also there was a time comics were not like this either. They didn´t use to reboot everything every 3 years. That´s something that started around the early 2000 or so. The windows for doing it have also grown exponentially closer. Honestly these days the only comics worth reading at all are those unrelated to major IPs. It´s the same for movies and games.
>>
>>223569428
that would be ass
>>
>>223569441
Maybe if you don’t know how to write

>like Disney
>>
>>223569451
dark endings which don't fit the tone of the work IS hack writing. Marvel movies are not that type of movie and shouldn't be.
>>
>>223569428
FYI this is basically what happened with bleach. went from a generic but enjoyable regular shounen, and this last season has been R rated, and some of the heroes die and lose.
>>
>>223568456
>Just don't watch them?
>>
>>223568968
The panel is Silver Age, so post 1960. 1949 is when Superman started using Heat vision.
>>

This. Thunderbolts was pretty dark at times but it worked and fit well into the greater MCU.

doesn't matter because the entire mcu gets wiped for battleworld so technically everyone dies and gets put in the new reality doing different roles except the 5 on the liferaft (yelena, reed richards, sue richards, sam wilson, and miles morales) and the 2 that loki plucked at the last second and saved (toby spiderman and wolverine) those are you secret wars leads as everyone else is memory wiped

Genuinely one of the weakest draws of all time, like Kevin Nash as the champion kind of bad
>>

The Thanos snap was so dark they didn't even show us the full ramifications on screen. You see a glimpse of the fallout, where a helicopter crashes into a building after losing its pilot. Imagine that shit happening everywhere, in every industry. Like your doctor gets dusted in the middle of an operation.
