Has anyone seen Ally McBeal? Someone recommended to me and it seems interesting but I feel like I've seen the main lead in another show, she was a big shot journalist.
I'm sure Harrison Ford has seen it.
>>223575631Can you ask him about what he thinks of it? I appreciate you anon
>>223575611God those are some great legs, what a fucking cutie pie.
>>223575686>God those are some great legs, what a fucking cutie pie.Mr. Ford, what are your thoughts on "Ally McBeal"?
Back in the old days, blondes were considered naturally dumber than brunettes, that's why the only way a blonde woman was capable of being considered smart was when she was flat.Times truly change fast

you'll go oh my god is that iron man! and then he'll go away because drug problems.
>>223575611>in another show, she was a big shot journalistYou are thinking of the cw supergirl She left after one season and the show's quality left with her
>>223575611I've watched the first two seasons. If you grew up in the 90s it's comfy as fuck for the most part, the whole thing has a loveable, goofy aspect to it facilitated by the fact that the entirety of the characters are deeply unhinged. Ally herself is prone to intense hallucinations that affect her behaviour (hence the dancing baby), her boss is a womanising nutbar who is obsessed with old women's necks, her other boss is intensely neurotic and actively weaponises his own quirks to fuck with opposing lawyers and win cases, he also frequently has Barry White playing in his head and other people in the office can sense it, leading to impromptu dance scenes in the office's "Gender neutral bathroom", Ally's assistant is massive busybody who spends more time searching out and spreading gossip than actually working, and that's just a few characters. The only part of the show that doesn't work is the forced love triangle between Ally, her former college sweetheart/co-worker, and his wife. Whenever the show devotes time to that subplot it's fucking awful.
>>223575611I am Gen X but barely remember it, I think it was intended for women the Dancing Baby Meme might be her desire to have children and guilt she is like 34 years old but no married or kids which was a weirder deal back then. The male sidekicks were pretty funny. Its like a sanitized Sex and The City in a law firm. Basically you could say this was a keystone show that influenced lots of stuff.I am thinking Numb3rs, Boston Legal, Legally Blonde. So from that angle of being completely nearly forgotten show that was influential in some ways Ally McBeal could be interesting on that level. Its sorta fun too. I don't know maybe if you watch it and like it rediscover it for everyone and it might get me to go try it again.
>>223575923It was Supergirl, thank you. She was kat Grant I just checked >>223575995I'll give it a watch then, thank you anon for your post, I did need something comfy to watch in this month.Have a wonderful week anon.
>>223575923>She left after one season and the show's quality left with herThe show's quality dipped because they switched from CBS to The CW, and also moved from California to Vancouver (hence Flockheart leaving).
>>223576034>I did need something comfy to watch in this month.I will give you a warning, there is a troon episode. But it's a 90s "very special episode" kind of thing. Also there are references to gay stuff but it's also the 90s "not that there's anything wrong with that" kinda stuff. A lot more tolerable than today's shit, but I figured I'd warn you now if that is something that bugs you.
The only things I remember from Ally McBeal are the dancing baby and the knee pit.
>>223575611Ally McBeal was a total leg show
>>223575611I did watch and after season 1 or 2, it became shit. the humour didn't age well, ally's delirium episodes became unfunny and repetitive, actor left the show, had their screen time reduced or straight up killed....
I prefer Single Female Lawyer
>>223575611I watched it as a kid sometimes when my parents watched it. All I really remember is the dancing baby, that character that looks like a Fallout ghoul, the unisex bathroom, and the singing parts. Oh yeah and when that Billy guy disappeared like Michael J. Fox in Back to the Future.
>>223575611>Someone recommended to meShe's not worth it mate. Get out now while you can.
>>223576586HAVING LOTS OF SEX!
Amazing how they saw the future with males and females using the same bathroom
>>223575611It has some good stuff but a TON of bad shit and you'll basically hate the main character and only give a shit about the side characters.
>>223575995The love triangle actually works if you take the stance that Ally is the villain that breaks up the ex and his new GF (played by Alison from Melrose Place). When they leave, the show goes downhill and becomes utterly unwatchable when RDJ pretty much destroyed the show by getting busted for drugs and kills the big storyline they were planning on his character and Ally getting married
>>223578545>if you take the stance that Ally is the villainThat's why I hate it, it makes Ally less likeable as a person. It seemed like they resolved it by the end of the first season and she'd moved on, but then the second season had him going after her and it was just bad.
