What does Cyberbrain even means?

>>223576631Imagine a neuron. It sends signals to other neurons. It's either on or off. Now imagine a transistor. It sends signal down the wire to the next transistor in line. It's either on or off.Now imagine mapping the brain wave architecture onto 80 billion transistors. Amazing, isn't it?
>>223576631>you can get cybernetic enhanvements>oh btw, it leaves you vulnerable to some random jackass taking over your mind and replacing all your memoriesSounds like it's NOT worth it. Even the grabage truck drivers in the film got hijacked, meaning it's likely pretty common. The downs are not worth it.
>>223576631We see her literally being put together... And that's not a flesh and blood brain. Since she has continuity with a person she's legally considered a person but she's really waffling about this. It's the main source of her angst.

I re-watched this in theaters. had clearly forgotten about 80% of the film and likely never actually followed the plot. I was pretty bored at times, and now that I know more about animation, it's obvious that they inserted a bunch of scenes of peopel standing and talking to save on the animation budget.
>>223577170>And that's not a flesh and blood brain. What the fuck...
>>223577227Yeah, I watched it twice because everyone raves about it so much about it, but it's a rather dry and boring movie that looks good.
feels more like a spiritual sequel to BLADE RUNNER, just wayyyyy more likely to filter people.
>>223577170>>223577272It's a flesh and blood brain inside a cybernetic shell. They mention brain cases directly.
>>223576631>What does Cyberbrain even means? Its basically that neuralink thing Elon Musk is working on. Your brain has a cybernetic component in it that connects directly to the net allowing you to experience digital signals as physical sensation.
>>223576631As I understand it, they scoop your brain out, stick it in a metal shell called a Brain Case, inject it full of Micromachines for Brain Computer Interface functions, and then stick it back in your skull. Most people in the GITS universe have a cyberbrain. Those who don't are weird outliers like homeless people.
>>223577350It has about 5 really great scenes, then a LOT of filler and blabbing. The budget is clearly modest, so they use it for the big sequences, then have a bunch of characters standing and talking. The intro scene with the two guys talking about some political situation is clearly just used to fill the run time.Angel's Egg is by far the better film, since it is all good visuals rather than good visuals and then filler.
>>223577812>some jack ass in Teipei decides to hack your brain, and make you think you're a dog rapist for funsies T-thanks Elon sempai.
>>223578321>some jack ass in Teipei decides to hack your brainThis will be the new >I was possessed, I was abused as a child, I was drunk/on drugs, I was suffering from a mental health episode
>>223578468Our world:>your computer is hacked>maybe your bank account is drained >oh dang. get a new computer at worstGhost in the shell world:>your wife got hacked>Your last thoughts are waking up to her stabbing you to death The security rpoblems are not worth it. Even if hacking ghosts is rare, it happening at all would cause a mania and paranoia. People wouldn't trust anyone with the procedure.
>>223577886>Micromachines
>>223577812>>223578321That's on you for not having the latest security hardware.
>>223579047>I am free>I pay a literal tax just to not get my memories replaced and insurance to fix my brain>Analogue bob" down the street doesn't have to worry about such things Given the issues with subscription and rent seeking, this is tech I would never trust in a million years.
>>223579008>The security rpoblems are not worth itRespectfully, your opinion is not going to be considered. It's something the state and the oligarchy will decide. You can resist it but you will be like an old man refusing to learn how computers work today.
>>223579087Luckily that kind of tech is about as plausible as the shit in Star Trek. Your brain is very, very good at recognizing foreign objects and encapsulating them in scar tissue. Every single long-term brain implant runs into this problem sooner or later and there's been essentially zero progress in solving it. It's why real neuroscientists have largely shifted to non-invasive interfaces and left the implants to hucksters like Musk.
>>223577350>>223577227The issue with GITS is that it's similar to Akira where people remember it for a handful of action scenes and think that's what the movie is or is about, while outside of the opening scenes both movies are very different films than what a lot of people remember or think.
>>223579047>You could get a phantascopic system planted directly on your retinas, just as Bud's sound system lived on his eardrums. You could even get telæsthetics patched into your spinal column at various key vertebrae.>But this was said to have its drawbacks: some concerns about long-term nerve damage, plus it was rumored that hackers for big media companies had figured out a way to get through the defenses that were built into such systems, and run junk advertisements in your peripheral vision (or even spang in the fucking middle) all the time-even when your eyes were closed.>Bud knew a guy like that who'd somehow gotten infected with a meme that ran advertisements for roach motels, in Hindi, superimposed on the bottom right-hand corner of his visual field, twenty-four hours a day, until the guy whacked himself.
The Cyberbrain is a cluster of nanomachines injected intravenously that gather at the brainstem and become a distributed digital assistant to the person. They are self replicating and self maintaining, the procedure to introduce them is non-invasive, they're literally just injected.

>>223576631She needs to be cyberblacked
>>223576631I will tell you out of kindness in the heart:CyberBrain secures the ledger cryptographically to encode transactions at 20x of the legacy infrastructure. It achieves this by taking blockchain transactions to the BbC-2026 layer and parsing them through the node network incentivized by super linear sequencing (SLSeq) which Sergey said is very close to the finish line. This is all dynamically incentivized through semi-permeable staking (SPS) allowing LINK token holders to benefit for verifying data both on the main chain and the Blockchain Byzantine Consensus 2026 layer. No other project is even close to doing this in the oracle space rn. It’s not even close! The obvious benefits of super fast transaction speeds (obSFTS) also brings exponential economies of scale. What this means is if farmer has 50 Kg pig for sale, he can put the beast to market on the blockchain to verify the weight in a trust less system faster than global SWIFT system. Soon any business who wants to stay relevant will have to buy LINK to have access to the CyberBrain feature. A truly unique proposition! Those who don’t use this system (powered by LINK) will get left behind. So get your ducks in a row. Just keep buying and NEVER sell. We are all in this together LINKbloodbros.Scammer motherfuckers want you to think that banks and other organizations are not currently fulling their bags with cheap LINK as we speak. DON’T NOT LET THEM WIN! If you hold 50 or more LINK right now, you already made it. Immediately when we breach the $8.50 resistance it’ll be too late for you. You have been warned. So go buy many LINK for you dream to come true.

>>223577700Is it though? The Major brings up in multiple continuities that, as far as she knows, she may just be an android who thinks she's a person. There is no way for her to confirm her past or true nature with any certainty. She doesn't even trust her own memories. Hell, at the end of the manga/most recent anime and the movie she's just consciousness floating around on the internet and isn't even "the Major" anymore since she merged with the Puppet Master.
