>There was literally no pushback to this other than one reviewer who watched it with him and noticed Spurlock drank four beers in the span of a 90 minute movie and was drunkenly rambled to in response
I still can't get over how all you need to do to eat fast food daily and not suffer is skip the fries and don't drink a fifth of vodka daily.

Ebert gave it a thumbs up likely because fast food helped make him morbidly obese and caused his throat cancer which eventually killed him.
Demonizing a fast food corporation was cathartic.

This was just the leftist crusade at the time.
The left goes after whoever has money and power they can take.
They noticed the food industry and fast food hadn't been tapped. So they came up with a bunch of bullshit outrage against them, that resulted in a bunch of leftists making a bunch of money.
Whenever the left is 'against' something, that is the reason. That is why they are anti AI right now. They want to shake the AI industry down. Same as how they were 'against' fossil fuels (shake the energy industry down) or whatever. They are basically the mafia. If you are making money or have power, and aren't giving leftists their cut, they will come along and organize a campaign to attack you.

This was an extremely flawed experiment with nonsensical rules and a control subject that already had chronic health problems, but it was presented as a perfectly healthy man destroyed by one single thing. It was completely wrong. The scene where his doctor tells him his health is terrible is before he even started the experiment, he edited it to make it look like it happened after.

any food is fine as long as you watch your tdee and get the proper amount of fruits and veggies which mcd and other fast food places usually dont have. some nuts and big healthy dose of natural granola in the morning for fiber will make you feel amazing too. Honestly, a spicy mccrispy, take off half the bun, smother it in the sauce and some cheese, have some apple slices or a salad on the side and some water (or a zero cal soda if you just have to), and mcd really isnt a bad choice for lunch

On one hand this guy was a complete fucking fraud. They switched to hydrogenated seed oils (which they themselves needed to lobby to be considered food) before the documentary. It being cheaper than tallow (because it wasn’t considered food until they lobbied for it to be considered food) is why supersize happened.

When you're shown this doc 5 separate times in school then yeah, I think people are going to start being annoyed at the legitimacy of the experiment. It's really hilarious how food was the first step into having political opinions for some children at this time, like >>223586004 said.
>>
>>223584207

>>
Isn't the quality of fast food also worse in America than in most other countries?
>>
>>223586669
Yes, but it tastes better (in fast food adjusted terms).
>>
>>223586649
There’s nothing political about food not being toxic.
>>
>>223586669
yes. Most countries don’t allow their food regulatory bodies to be lobbied.
>>
>>223586703
Spurlock and his wife were vegan. If you don't think that was even a minor reasoning to get this doc out then you're stupid. The Michelle Obama thing was literally a signed law. It's inherently political. You are a mouth breathing dipshit.
>>

>>
>mcd for lunch
>just a grill chicken burger with lettuce and 2 slices of tomato
>A small fries and ice green tea

If even you switch out the buns for 2 slice of bread, this meal has nothing you can claim to be unhealthy.
>>
>>223586449
They weren’t publicly available in flyers. They were absolutely published, anyone could get them. You think McDonald’s just started publishing the caloric content of their food in the 2,000s????? It’s required by law. Stop just reading shit online without questioning it.
>>
>Because he only wanted to eat McDonald's food, Spurlock refused to take any medication at all.
Boy I wonder if suddenly cutting out any and all medication your body might be used to might play a role in you feeling shitty.

>>223586665
Yeah, a defensive statement just after the movies release based entirely off Spurcocks claim means nothing. He never published what his actual intake was.
>>
>>223586798
Then why didn’t he have any health problems associated with alcoholism? oh? Is it because he wasn’t drinking and you treat a drunken off-hand tweet as gospel truth? Something you didn’t start pushing until after he was dead because you were afraid he’d prove he wasn’t drinking at the time?
>>
>>223586330
You are being disingenuous.
>>
>>223586848
Anon. Wanting the FDA to not just change policies based on the whims of the highest bidder isn’t political. Wanting a functional government isn’t politics.

>>223586951
Politics happens after you have a functional government.
>>
>>223586917
>Then why didn’t he have any health problems associated with alcoholism?
Other than the liver damage the doctor specifically discusses with him and is amazed at how it seemingly came out of nowhere?
>Is it because he wasn’t drinking and you treat a drunken off-hand tweet as gospel truth?
When someone says they've been a alcoholic for 30 years, I'm tempted to believe them
>Something you didn’t start pushing until after he was dead because you were afraid he’d prove he wasn’t drinking at the time?
You got me, I was quaking in my boots that he'd kick down by door and prove (somehow) he didn't drink for a month period 20 years ago.
>>
>>223586917
>uh yeah dude who cares that he himself said he wasn't sober for even a week for 30 years and that he had been drinking since age 13 uhhh yeah there was no alcoholism so uhhh yeah try to explain that
>>
>>223586979
He didn’t have any liver damage at the start of the documentary.
>>
>>223586995

He only ate the big mac. spurlock eats the entire menu. the big mac has undergone the least revisions of any of their "food."

the guy also looks like the physical embodiment of processed food in how he only vaguely resembles a human being.
>>
>>223587001
Yes he did. He was an alcoholic.

Yes they did. That’s why the film is now discredited and talked about as a propaganda tool than an educational one.

>They switched to hydrogenated seed oils (which they themselves needed to lobby to be considered food) before the documentary. It being cheaper than tallow (because it wasn’t considered food until they lobbied for it to be considered food) is why supersize happened.

every time mcdonalds has "revised" their recipies its to replace expensive food products with cheaper non-food additives they lobbied to be considered food. So yes, "revisions" are entirely relevant. Not even mentioning how mcdonalds revised their entire menu and portion sizes in response to supersize me.
>>
>>223588449
The doctor directly states he has no health issues at the start of the documentary. Furthermore, even if you want to pretend the documentary was completely fraudulent because you're mad your slop doesn't cost $.001 per calorie anymore, people can (and quite frequently do) drink every day of their lives and suffer no adverse health effects.
>>
>>223588481
The film isn’t discredited at all though. If anything it’s been vindicated over time as we learned how toxic hydrogenated seed oils are. Oils McDonald’s immediately stopped using in response to the documentary.
