So, I watched the original movie yesterday then I watched the sequel with my mom because she wanted to see it. The original is good, because it's mostly what I would expect from a movie made in the 90s.Practical magic 2 though.. ITS FUCKING GARBAGE! Okay, it doesn't immediately suck, but by the midpoint I was already getting fed up with this movie. For example they say locked in and it was so painfully obvious that it was put in there as slang for the younger audience (me) but it just makes me roll my eyes. Then there's so much more writing that just seems like they're trying to modernize everything? Like it's literally, the best way I can describe it, they somehow took all those things people negatively say about Hollywood and actually did that with this movie. Another thing I HATE is that the actors whisper alot.. why? WHY ARE YOU WHISPERING??!! It was so annoying to watch that. Also the new girls are an ARTIST GIRLBOSS and a NEUROSURGEON, not even joking about that, they literally introduced the most bland characters ever. And then, get this, the villain of this movie is a guy, but it would be awfully mean if they had a movie about girls but the only guy in the movie is bad, right? So they added another guy and he's not bad.. but he also mentored the bad guy and then they literally KNOCK THE GOOD GUY OUT just because they think he was bad just so he doesn't have to show up for the finale. Anyway, this movie is such a SNORE that by the end of it I was practically begging for the movie to be over but it just kept going.. and going... there was literally a scene where the mom was being all quirky at the end like saying stuff to the daughters.. then closing the door, then opening it again, then closing it.. then opening it.. GAH! WHY??!! So basically, this movie is literal dodo trash. I never, ever post here on /tv/ but this movie was so bad I felt the need to make my opinion heard on it. I hope you never, ever have to suffer through watching this movie like I did.
My girlfriend put this on while I was in the room... AI had to have written this movie as the entire movie is random five chunks that would correspond with what women like and what motivates women. This movie was pure schizo psychological experiment. I was baffled at the end of it that it was even movie since it felt like a WB ripoff of Charmed but shittier. Also whatever AI filter they're using to de-age Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman was disturbing. Sandra Bullock looked like a character out of Who Framed Roger Rabbit? with how animated her face would look at times.I'm sure the target demographic liked it but it was an incomprehensible fever dream to me.
