Some questions about old American anime.
Some questions about old anime.
Is there such a thing as the literary canon, but for the media?
I decided to watch the black & white Disney stuff, and, by luck, I discovered there is one anime called Betty Boop too. I was actually surprised because Boop moggs Disney when it comes to art and animation.
Is the Disney Technicolor stuff any good? What about Popeye? Any other title you would like to recommend?

Fuck off to /co/, asshole.

I used to really like watching Looney Tunes as a kid. It was the really old stuff, like from the 1940s. The older stuff was somehow much better than the newer.

I love the colours, the details, and the backgrounds in the old stuff (1940, 1950, 1960). But the b&w stuff got more movement, like, youll see side characters doing more stuff.

Just watch what you want.

Betty Boop's actual cartoons are crazy and underrated as fuck in the modern era. People now treat her like some ancient Hello Kitty thing, where girls just get tattoos of her without seeing a single thing she's from.

Popeye is in my opinion the best of that era's cartoons. If you like Betty Boop you'll like Popeye, both were made by Fleischer Studios.

If you liked Betty Boop, you will probably enjoy the old Fritz the Cat cartoons.

None of those are B&W but they're all from the 30's and have fluid animation you'd probably like

All the Fleischer stuff is worth trying, like the other Anon said Popeye is some of the best. Their Superman shorts from the 40s are also extremely high quality and iconic though a little later and not b&w
