Mainly it's not letting female characters be responsible for anything bad ever when oen of the main points of the story is that women in power can be just as ruthless and cruel as men, most of the shit writing is just trying to find asspulls for why something Alicent of Rhaenyra did in the books was just an accident actually a man's fault somehow

The first season had such a conflicting tone. It was set in the unforgiving, life-or-death "medieval" era but with the modern dynamics of a meek father dealing with his bratty teenage daughter. It has been a while but I remember she was being disruptive during a council meeting and all the characters just kind of shrugged it off with the father like, "haha that's my daughter!". No father, weak or strong, would tolerate that when being seen as timid is essentially a death sentence. Retarded feminist writing.
