This was never an issue back when people still had some kind of community oriented lifestyle. Individualism is a disease of the mind. Enh, purpose is a concept that is associated with what you value and work at in life. Purpose shouldn't be attached to reward so much as dedication attached to what you consider provides you meaning or is meaningful to you. It is not fixed and varies wildly. There are many different purposes in life. Some last a month or for decades. Various levels of importance of purpose, which also flux in their value or importance to you over time.

What objective reality? We see and feel whatever our brain approximates as reality, based on signals from our sensory organs from a split second ago. We're all sorta hallucinating at a low level

I think it remains to be seen whether there can be an objective reality that is not one based on concensus from two or more subjects. If only one observer exists in the entire universe, would they experience a 'more' objective and pure reality?
This sorta thing is an open question as far as I know, but my guess is that 'objective' reality is more consensus based rather than having its own independent existence, a shared dream
