This is what I was thinking the entire time I watched it too. Any fan of Chris Hansen will immediately be turned off because he's portrayed as this unstable obsessive narcisist sociopath. The movie as a whole is just too weird and boring for mainstream audiences. I also can't see the academy liking this one much because of the subject matter. Really bizarre that this was even made. It looked pretty, I guess
