>“the sopranos is the most realistic show ever made”
>tony soprano, BOSS OF A FUCKING CRIME FAMILY, personally drives to a sporting goods store to collect a debt
>then personally murders a guy in broad daylight
>meanwhile the FBI has an informant inside the family for 3 years
>still can't arrest anyone

Who said that? Nobody said that. Don't you ever say that to me again.

The season 1 antics are toned down later on.

Eh, it varies. It’s darker and more serious overall, but a lot of the ridiculous stuff still stays. The whole “war” between New York and Jersey is something that would never have happened. That level of inter-organizational mob violence was really something you only saw in the 70s.

Just a reminder, David Chase wanted to make Junior a pedophile who molesting Janice, but the studio had to force him to drop the idea. I wonder if there was any other sick stuff he wanted to include in The Sopranos (like the gross sex scenes or the gay vito storyline) and whether the studios had to rein him in to keep his perversions in check.

No one has ever said the sopranos was some uber 100% realistic show. There’ll always be some creative license. Plenty of posters here make fun of how sloppy the murders are, the series simply never cared for those technical details, it wasn’t the focus.
>meanwhile the FBI has an informant inside the family for 3 years

It takes years for RICO cases to develop and they want to put Tony away for good. Besides, you must be watching too many shows where law enforcement are always portrayed as competent geniuses. In real life, they fuck up all the time

David Chase only wrote 9 episodes of the Sopranos of his own, he created the series but his actual role was minimal.

>BOSS OF A FUCKING CRIME FAMILY
A glorified fuckin' crew.
Unironically.
>>
Why does everyone think the murders are so unrealistic? The Chucky Signore hit and the Atlantic City Waiter kill are probably the most egregious. But if there’s nobody around and you’re not literally on camera how are they going to catch you exactly?
It’s very hard to hang a murder charge on someone

Vito being gay was based on a real gay Italian mob
>>
>>223586646
The IRA and organized crime in real life literally declined due to the widespread adoption of street cameras.
>>
>>223586209
there was a scene where Tony was supposed to jack off at some gas station perving out over a magazine Gandolfini freaked out and refused to do it. supposedly he finally relented but they never released that scene.
>>
Most unrealistic thing in the sopranos is Chrissy still being alive after being outed by everyone as a junkie. Someone would’ve offed him
>>
>>223586646
the chucky hit may as well be a fantasy. the waiter had witnesses and unless there were zero cameras and they didnt pay with card they have fucking fingerprints and DNA all over that table.
>>
>>223586766
yes I think Chase said mobsters told him as much and he thinks he should’ve killed him sooner
>>
Not really a sloppy scene, but Chrissy shot a guy in his own house in a nice neighborhood. Gunshots are loud, neighbors wouod have heard and called the police. Those are the type of small details the show never really cared to focus on. The mob stuff is just a background drop for Tony and his condition
>>
>>223586724
what was his fate??
>>
Why was Chrissy’s AA sponsor allowed in their mob meetings? They’re casually discussing Phil killing Vito and how to get revenge in front of him. Guy was just a petty crook

Jimmy Olsen over here

Yeah, but he was the heir apparent, no one wants that kind of heat.

He offended them personally

I don't think I've ever heard anyone say sopranos was realistic. It's not like breaking soi where the fans won't stfu about it being le ebin realistic
>>
>>223586812
He turned up the tv to max volume which should muffle a shot enough
>>
>>223586766
Imperioli was one of the best parts of sopranos
>>
>>223585886
the most realistic thing about the show is it depicts the mafia as a bunch of obese criminal retards
>>
>organized crime used to just be some funny fat guys that hung out at restaurants and bars all day not bothering anyone
we need to go back

who are you quoting? The show is more of a surrealist comedy.
>>
>>223585886
He was the boss of a glorified crew
>>
Whats the joke with Uncle Philly telling Marie he loved Vito like a brother in law? I always see it quoted but isn’t he just telling Marie he loves her like a sister?
>>
>>223585886
This show is peak goyslop
