Why was 1970s Wonder Woman so popular? The plots are risible, the charact-development non-existent, it hardly even touched upon the social issues of the time. I just can't explain its popularity. Can anyone help me understand with the aid of pics and webms? It's a real head-scratcher.
>>223585912truly the Xena Warrior Princess of they're generations.
>>223585912>hardly even touched upon the social issues of the timeit's escapism, dipshit

Honestly I think she was even hotter as prim and proper Diana Prince.

>>223585912Why did this bodytype disappear from movies?
>>223586885Only being tied up by a man caused her to lose her powers.

>>223592202>not wanting a woman to give you Chad sons
>>223585912>Why was 1970s Wonder Woman so popular? It was really only the TV movie and the first season on ABC that was a ratings success. It was very quirky and novel: a period piece, a female-led action-adventure-comedy, based on a comic book, not shown weekly, and the heroine was a saintly innocent beautiful princess/guardian angel who loved her enemies and was more interested in saving souls than punishing the wicked. It always won its time slot no matter where they put it. When they made it a CBS weekly series, modernized it, gave her a skimpier costume, turned her into a more conventional vigilante crimefighter, and reduced the humor, the charm wore thin and the ratings declined. They brought in a new producer halfway through Season 2 and the ratings improved slightly for Season 3, but the quirky first season gave way to very conventional scripts that could have appeared on any other network series, and featured only brief appearances of the Wonder Woman character, who became an afterthought on her own program: in a 50-minute episode you might get only two minutes of Lynda Carter in the costume.
>>223585912No internet, no vcr, no video games, and 3 channels on a television that didnt have a remote and if you wanted to see naked titties youd need a special magazine
For me its pic related. Strange how the 70's treated these two characters better than they are these days
>>223594493the real kino is at the tail end
>>223595027
>>223595134Is that real?
>>223585963Xena had good action and the character had depth. Tried watching Wonder Woman and it's the most boring action-less garbage imaginable. The webms of hee boobs bouncing are nice but it's barely even watchable
>>223586297You should look into the origins of the character, they even made a movie about the guy who came up with her.
>>223595134>Woosta
>>223595437xena is unironically more stupidno wonder it's the one you managed to understand
>>223591901

>>223592714kek
>>223595057>the real kino is at the tail endI agree. And I've never seen an explanation for how they pulled that two-parter out of their asses at the last minute. If the rest of the series had been at that level, I would have no complaints. My theory has always been that they bought the story from an uncredited Stephen Kandel, who was responsible for the two previous kino 2-parters involving aliens, then gave it to Anne Collins to turn into a teleplay -- and even SHE couldn't screw it up.

>>223596750I like the CBS seasons because they are chicand Diana starts having more of the golden age personality, ironically enough
Should Wonder Woman just be more of a spy character instead of an out and out Warrior? Like she could be Batman with a Superman skin
>>223586885a man of taste
>>223599383No valid version of WW is a "warrior".
