Why doesn't anyone ever talk about this or even mention it anymore? For a movie that supposedly broke the box office, seems strange how quickly it became irrelevant.
>>
>>223587711
Looks like you just did, fag
>>
>>223587711
I'm still waiting for it to appear on rutracker m8
>>
>>223587722
I haven't seen a thread for it in months

>chuds reached the cope stage of "the movie is not culturally relevant"
Look at this dude, oh no no no *wheezes* look at the top of his head!
>>
Key points of this film:
It made a lot of money and the action scenes are comically bad. Not much else to say.
>>
What do you want to talk about three months after the release? New capeslop gets forgotten week later, at least Odyssey kept chuds seething whole summer. Now that's a cultural impact for you.
>>
>>223587711
Yep. Even stranger than Avatar's cultural relevance. At least it's quite known that Avatar is very popular in Russia and Ukraine. Odyssey on the other hand? Literally no body is talking about it after the shills disappeared.
>>
>>223587766
>>223587786
Surprised you're still at it
>>
>>223587722
yeah a 4chan thread is definitely fucking relevant in the broader cultural zeitgeist, retard.
>>
>>223587722
bodied that freak
>>
>>223587711
i made it 40 minutes into this movie
i just cant get through it, its so boring
>>
>>223587711
I mean what is there to say about it? They cast blacks and browns and that's the only thing noteworthy about it
>>
>>223587887
Why was it shilled so hard and make so much money?
>>
>>223588126
It made money because Nolan is a household name and thus bamboozles the goyim.
It was shilled because of the culture war.
>>
it's not really much to discuss. it's the odyssey. yeah you could potentially discuss some creative things about the adaptation but i don't think /tv/ is on that level
>>
>>223587711
Because we talk about current things, and only autistic weirdos talk about the same shit all the time.
>>
Every person, I mean literally every single person I talked to who saw this gave it a 9/10 or 10/10 but basically couldn't explain why it was so good besides that it was so good.
But also it had a ton of flaws and issues but was still somehow a 9/10 or 10/10.

Just like Sloppenhimer it was nothing but hype
>>
We don't get threads about Predator or Rocky either. I guess those are shit, irrelevant movies. Hell, LotR only got talked because of Colbert's movie, lately.
>>
>>223587711
Our bronze age is collapsing has to be my favorite quote from this year. Just... Bravo Nolan!
>>
If Universal bought individual tickets in every cinema in the world totaling 1.768 billion dollars, when will a whistleblower step forward? It seems like a lot to hide.
>>
>>223588697
we just had one on rocky an hour ago
>>223587711
Boring movie. You can't even bait people with it because it was that boring and dull
>>
>>223587711
Because in spite of padded box office numbers only a fraction of everyone actually saw it.
>>
>>223587711
What sucks is that if nukes start flying the post-apocalypse society is going to find it and think that that’s what The Odyssey was.
>>
>>223588929
Only stone structures will survive the apocalypse.
>>

>>223589269
this. even heckin fans of the movie noticed this, but tried to blame scalpers
>>
>>223587786
You never talked about the movie itself, only the money it made lmao
>>
>>223587711
Like all Nolan movies there's nothing much to it.
It's a generic, but technically strong blockbuster.
>>
>>223587711
Zero cultural relevance, I had forgotten about it before I saw this thread and I'll forget as soon as I close it. By far the worst ancient fiction adaptation of all time. Even Troy which was still shit was better than this crap. Nolan is a hack.
>>
>>223589325
This is the brownest thing I have ever seen. Total scalper death, hang them in the streets.
>>
>>223589435
it wasnt scalpers it was the studio faking numbers and buying tickets. scalpers do this with physical stuff like consoles and trading card sets, not digital purchases like tickets. that doesnt work anymore
>>
>>223587711
>Giant guys with brank armor sets
I actually thought it was AI generated
>>
>>223589546
Either way scalpers should get the electric chair.
>>
>>223587711
it came out months ago, people who wanted to see it and talked about it already have. when it comes out on streaming there will be another wave of discussion. also doesn't help that any thread about it on /tv/ gets derailed by culture war chuds. why would I even bother discussing it here when that's the case? you make discussion of movies you don't like impossible, and then wonder why people stop discussing them here.
>>
>>223589731
yes agreed. the costco by me released some new pokemon card set last week i saw the line since i go get gas in the mornings. half of it was brown scalper types who probably have it all listed on ebay by now
>>
>>223587711
Why do they look like mooks from an early PS3 game?
>>
>>223587786
People are still making obsession threads. Backrooms threads were around for months. Those are just 2 new examples. Sopranos threads get made regularly. Anything else retard
>>
>>223589781
Lol this is really the thing you're angry about?
>>
Please don’t post the trapped in the forest webm
>>
>>223587853
What awful boring people you are. Holy shit.

>>223588183
This. The thing to pay attention to is if Nolan's next release tanks. It's not the first shitty woke thing that bombs. It's the subsequent ones.
>>
>>223587711
Probably because of all the well poisoning faggotry and mental illness.
Once its on streaming and brownies can finally watch it in better quality than a camp rip you'll see the same people crawling out of the woodwork claiming they say it opening day and it was always kino, or some other faggot babytalk cope.
>>
>>223587711
I'm trans and I loved this adaptation. Finally an Odyssey for the 99%ers
>>
>>223591028
NTA but he wasn't even angry, he was just responding to what the other guy said with a similar example. What is wrong with you? Are you a bot?
>>
>>223591332
>the tranny is tricked into instantly being murdered an goes to hell
It was good, wasn't it.
>>
>>223591338
that anon scalps pokemon card sets
>>
>>223587711
Let's call it what it was, anon: a summer blockbuster that wasn't particularly powerful beyond the spectacle it offered in the theatre. The acting performances, script, and camera work are by and large not very good, and what're you left with? Leguizamo and Pattinson trying their best?
It's a fine film but people are falling prey to hype engines, myself included. I don't think it was worth the 30-odd dollars to see it in IMAX with a glass of wine, but lesson learned: Nolan is still a bit of a hack
>>
>>223587766
People still say Big Guy/For You and complain about the joker being anal raped and that is literally BATMAN KIDS TOY SILLYBLASTER CAPE HEROES PEW PEW 3rd grader du jour shit. The Odyssey is an ancient work of art with a recent "box office breaking" release and its crickets
>>
>>223589089
Good thing computers and memory cards are stone structures
>>
>>223589741
>there will be another wave of discussion
Where was the first wave? None of the threads ever actually discussed the movie
>>
>>223587766
>>223587786

Bro I have some bad news for you.
>>
>>223587711
one could almost say it had zero cultural relevancy
>>
>>223587766
People weren't even talking about it when it was new, every conversation was centered around how much money it was making.
Then spiderman came along and showed us what discussion of a real hit looks like.
>>
>>223587787
>Avatar is very popular in Russia and Ukraine
Russians are rooting for the humans btw
>>
It was a movie made for ~40 theaters in the world and if you didn't see it in one of those theaters, you saw a visually nerfed version of the film. I saw it in regular IMAX and I'm pissed. There's no worthwhile way to watch it at home
>>
the only lasting meme is once again from Robert Pattinson (his beggars line).

they tried to make the sirens thing a meme but it didn't stick.
>>
>>223589546
they do do it with tickets, but they do it for stuff like concerts for famous bands, you know, stuff where the scarcity is obvious. scalping all the tickets for all the showings of a movie for a month across several theaters in different parts of the country would require an ungodly amount of coordinated effort. you don't have to believe the studio buyout theory, but this is even more outlandish of an hypothesis.
>>
>>223591599
when people started posting webms from the recordings of the movie sessions there was discussion about how bad it was. then as soon as the box office numbers started rolling in, all the discussion became about that instead.

>We lived in a world of palaces, trade and language but trade network disruptions will cause long-term economic damage and weakened states. This coupled by invasions from the so-called Sea People will have disastrous results such as a massive drop in literacy and the loss of writing systems, leading to several empires vanishing completely.

This movie revealed how chuds are at best blue collar level uneducated chumps who don’t care about actual history and just view it trough the lense of the current thing. Uneducated people think that only present has ever really existed.
>>
>>223587711
Hard to know when you don't leave your room.
My parents and all their boomer friends have watched it.

>>
>>223596972
I couldn't give less of a fuck, but poking on schizos that will deny existence itself before admitting they got some slop prediction numbers wrong is always fun.
>>223596973
Asides from the usual buckbroken schizos and occasional baiters, yeah. The only thing people cared somehow about was its potential flop, but it didn't, so there'sno reason to talk about it. I guess Nolan is too popular among the cattle to fall.
>>
>>223587722
that ugly runt gets angrier with every reply to this post sadly
>>
You boys know this was just the newest rendition of a 3000 year old story that everyone knows right? What do you want people to discuss at this point?
>>
>>223587711
people moved on to the next culture war topic
>>
>>223596897
White people are ESL too (like me).

>>223596879
Nah i said that chuds don’t have a real interest in history and thus find this movie boring and only think about it in the context of their political sport teams.
>>

People have this reaction to every Nolan film. I really don’t get it - it’s like he’s mastered the art of hypnotising normies into a 3 hour stupor that they walk out of feeling ecstatic, followed by instant amensia.
