>>223593445I've always felt like this. The MCU was novel for what it did (for better or worse), but I think like it sent all the wrong messages to other studios. Back in the day you didn't need to reboot batman or superman because they got a different actor, they just trusted the audience to go "Oh, I guess a different actor is playing batman now" and just adapt. Maybe you liked the other guy, or the other other guy better, but you weren't throwing a fit and demanding that you start back from square one to re-establish all the shit everyone already knows through cultural osmosis.
