A bunch of plot points that were added to the show were just dropped and forgotten. Different seasons seemed to have completely different writers, to the point that it looked like someone just grabbed a Season of a TV show that had been written for a completely different show, and then adapted that script and plot line for Justified. Justified was really saved by the lead actors, who were good enough and charismatic enough to prevent all the inconsistencies from killing the show.
