When I was young, I had a friend who shared my interest in comic books and the Batman universe. He was fond of Tim Burton's Batman '89, and particularly the Joker's line: "You ever dance with the devil in the pale moonlight?" He loved that line and quoted it frequently. He thought it was cool. I thought it made him sound like a fucking imbecile, but sometimes you just have to tolerate these, uh, quirks in your friends. You ever known anyone like this?
GENTLEMEN
>>223596302Why did he quote it?
>>223596353That's a good question and I never got an answer. He would quote it at random moments, usually when drunk.
Does the pope shit in the woods?
>>223596302Jack was the best Joker period
>>223596302OP do you mind if I memorize your post to use as an anecdote at my next office potluck? I’m bad at socializing so telling them this story will make it sound as if I have a life
>>223596374Drunk quoting a movie is just normal druk fun
>>223596498Eh, I don't know. I watched the film again last week, and the best thing about it is the production design. Gotham looks great in this film, it really does. But as for Jack's Joker, it's a bit cringe. There are two long scenes with him dancing to Prince songs, which not only clash with the noir setting, but also make him look like an embarrassing uncle who had a few too many drinks at the wedding and is now going to bop around and show the kids how it's done. He has no menace, no sense of real danger. There's also something a bit strange towards the end. Before throwing Joker off the tower, Batman says, "You killed my parents." Joker says, "Ah come on, bat-brain, I was a kid when I killed your parents." This can only mean that Joker knows Batman is Bruce Wayne, but for some reason it was never mentioned before and was irrelevant to the narrative. If Joker knew Bruce Wayne's secret, why didn't he expose it when he was on television? That would have really fucked Batman.
>>223596545You have my permission to use the anecdote however you will. But it's hardly a story to impress people. It's about me hanging around with a peculiar autismo.
>>223596302OP I can tell by your writing that you are autistic and drunk. I know these things
>>223596324Let's... broaden our minds!
>>223596302Queef ledger has seen better days
Bill Hicks used it in one of his bits.
>>223596632Eh, Jack was OK for the time, but he’s just a little bit too … Jack. I always thought the “Dance with the Devil” line was lame. His real best line and his only really menacing scene was this:>You ever heard of the healing power of laughter?
Op gradually spotlighting how much he hates his "friend" as people continue to ignore it is kino
LO STUPRATO
>>223596632>He has no menace, no sense of real danger. This reads like someone who thinks TDK Joker is the only Joker that should exist. I bet it's your favourite Batman movie. Even in the museum scene you're talking about he's plenty frightening to Vale behind all his laughter, that's the entire point. It's like you can't understand anything unless it's straight out told to you in big red letters.>"You killed my parents." Joker says, "Ah come on, bat-brain, I was a kid when I killed your parents. And now you're straight up making shit up. His first answer is, and I quote>What?! What are you talking about?and he only says "I was a kid when I killed your parents" after Batman says "You made me first", in other words it's Batman's words which imply that it was a long time ago.You have zero media literacy
