When I feel like playing a game with a friend, I’ll open the game and play it at the same time, on my second monitor, while watching a streamer like Jerma or CohhCarnage play it. It basically feels like we’re playing together, even though we’re obviously not actually in the same room.When I want to watch a movie, I’ll put on The Normies and watch it along with them, like I’m watching a movie with some other friends. Or I’ll watch The Coby Show. When I want to watch a TV series, I’ll put on streamers like Northernlion, Asmongold, or Pirate Software and watch along with them.Obviously I know these people aren't literally my friends and that it’s a one-sided relationship, but the feeling of having someone there to share an experience with is real. That’s basically the appeal for me. It’s no different from putting on a movie because you want some company while you watch it, except the “company” happens to be someone streaming online.
