Man, inception was so fucking good. What the hell happened to Nolan after this? Every movie since has been medicore or shit.
This is his 3rd worst movie though after tenet and the TDKR
>>223603165>"action" scenes dragging on for so long they get boring>a CS map with bots>so fucking goodmein negger
>>223603181Then which do you consider his three best films?
>>223603220His first 3
>>223603220TDkPrestige MementoAnd it's not even up for debate...Openheimer is really good too
Nolan only ever made one good movie (Memento). The rest were cape shit (Batman trilogy), mid shit (Interstellar, Oppenheimer), boring shit (Insomnia, Prestige, Dunkirk), and garbage (Tenet, Inception).>you guys>i am going to star in this movie>let me tell you about it>it's about a dream>yeah, I jump into another person's dream>yes, i can do that>but wait, I am going to make him dream inside his dream>yes, I can do that, too>and then I am going to jump from the dream into the dream in the dream>i can do that too, mmkay?>don't ask questions>and then I am going to make him dream in the dream in the dream>you still following me?>so that I can jump from the dream in the dream into the dream in the dream in the dream>what do you mean, why?>because dreams slow down time, silly>which will give me time to change the guy's mind about something>which I will do by changing what happens in the dream in the dream in the dream>yes, I can do all of that>but then I have to get out of there>because the world in the dream in the dream in the dream will start to deteriorate>I don't know why, it just does, mmkay?>which means I have to leave the dream in the dream in the dream by jumping into the dream in the dream>then I have to jump from the dream in the dream to the dream>and then I can jump out of the dream and into reality>sounds like a good movie and not like an absolutely stupid ass ridiculous movie, right?>wait, wait.. hey, where are you going?Fuck outta here with that dumb shit
>>223603234Counting or not counting Followin
>>223603264Yes I like following
>>223603165Nolan's second biggest filter after Tenet, it seems, judging from what I see its critics saying. It is his masterpiece. I keep going back to it.
>>223603165I've always found Nolan to make competent movies, but they all feel so soulless to me. Like, there's no emotion in his movies. Aside from the spectacle, there's nothing else to engage with.
>>223603244Eh Oppenheimer was ok but Murphy carried it. The script was classic mid-tier oscarb8 slop. It was a bit disorganized with the whole jumping timelines meme that for everyone seems obsessed with despite it rarely actually paying off.
>>223603252It’s about psychological operations. You have to implant stories deep into people subconsious so they think thee things they believe come from within. This is how advertising and propaganda works.
>>223603404I wouldn’t say that about inception or the prestige. I thought the sub plot with the dead wife was compelling in both stories and bale did a great job in the prestige. Huge Jackman’s performance was a bit more shallow but that fit the character since his primary motive was pure distilled narcissism.
>>223603252Insomnia is really worse than the Scandinavian original that was just five years old then. I guess Americans were that much allergic to foreing movies that there was a market for an inferior remake that yet had ten times the reach just from being in English with meme Pachino.
>>223603244>And it's not even up for debate...Openheimer is really good tooI have a feeling he made Oppenheimer just to suppress his criminal brother from popping up in search engines
>>223603862qrd?
>>223603895Chris Nolan has a second brother who was not in hollywood. He allegedly was involved in a kidnapping and murder of an american businessman by luring him to costa rica. He also used alias Oppenheimer with forged documents for which he got convicted. However there was not enough evidence for the kidnapping and murder and charges were later dropped

>Interstellar>Dunkirk>Tenet>Oppenheimer>OdysseyAll kino. TDKR was a mess, I’ll give you that
BRAVO NOLAN
>>223603475Like all Nolan's films it a film about film. The characters are literally the auteur, the producer, the actor, the production designer, the financier etc. Films are like dreams etc.Like all Nolan's films about films it also about his interest in the linear medium appearing not to be, in this case the false simultaneity of "the heist".See also, The Prestige (it makes no sense because films are like magic and I go to massive lengths to lie to you about what you are seeing), Tenet, etc etc.He isn't a difficult filmmaker to understand.
>>223605357The dead wife is the auteur's obsessions threatening his project, the penalty being "development hell" where seconds become years hahaha. See also: Interstellar. And again, illusion of long and short time in a linear medium locked to 24 fps.
