I hate when a movie is kino for the first ~30 minutes then turns to self-indulgent masturbatory crap.

SALT with Angelina Jolie is like that.

Granting amnesty to an international terrorist for giving you the name of a bigger terrorist and then the name he gives you is your name is such a kino fucking set up for a movie and then it fumbles it hard

Dusk till Dawn was like that for me, but I went into it blind and the twist was such a sharp difference from the beginning (crime drama/thriller) it ruined the movie for me. Can watch the first part any time, but have only seen the rest of it like twice

But come and see was great from the beginning to the end.

As a kid I loved that twist. But now I realize the vampire stuff is so bad. It's just scene after scene of characters fighting vampires solo and getting killed individually. It's like they were too lazy/talentless to film action scenes with multiple characters.

it has plenty of good moments spread throughout, but it relies too much on people wailing to try and make me feel the horrors of war. It's like when a comedy thinks having every character yelling all the time is funny. It wears thin quickly.
