Ending of I Saw The TV Glow is maybe the closest thing I’ve seen to a lynchian scene that wasn’t directed by the man himself. There’s something about the contrast between Owen’s complete breakdown and the absolute banality of the birthday party, the way he stumbles out profusely apologising yet no one even reacts… both horrifying and hilarious at the same time.
