>NOOOOOOO YOU CAN'T BE GENEROUS WITH YOUR CUSTOMERS YOU NEED TO SCREW THEM OVER!!!
>>223606592I like the crust
>>223606592>let's turn the saturation way down so everything looks flat and boring, and add slushing sounds when touching the food to make it as disgusting as possible, while we boost the colors right up when it's my time to cook.I like the show but goddamn was this annoying.
>>223606592THE DOUGH WAS RAAAAWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW
>>223606592Regardless it looks like disgusting slop
That is by far the best style of pizza.
>>223606673>gordon goes to chicago>tips scalding hot tomato sauce over himselfYOU BLOODY DONKEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEYYYYYYYYYYYYYSSSSSSSSSS
>>223606592I get the impression most restaurants make their real money with disgustingly overpriced drinks and not even with the actual food. No, I don't have a source for this.
>>223606956They make a lot of money from food too. Profit margins are higher on drinks. But lately middlemen are increasing prices for food to squeeze out both producers and retail.
>>223606592Pretty sure there is a fuck ton of uncooked dough in the crust. It's just a waste. Thin is usually better anyways. I saw a recent clip that utterly floored me. This stupid owner presents this nice looking roast chicken to Gordon and explains that he cooks the chicken 3 times over. He fully cooks it to temp sous vide, then he roasts it and finally he fries it. He's so fucking proud and Gordon nods and says it looks good and the owner walks off. He takes one bite and says it's dry as hell. What fucking retard looks something 3 times and doesn't think it'll be overcooked.
>>223607095>They make a lot of money from food tooThey do? Out of all the random small-time restaurants how many of them make legit money at the end of the month over a longer period of time? Not talking about places that are just exist for money laundering or other shady bullshit.
>>223606592Thin crust is the most honest kind of pizza. Pizza is a flatbread, a dish that has existed for millennia and is one of the earliest known meals made from cereal crops. It was fired in a clay pit with no yeast and was flat as a board and hard like a cracker. That's how your pizza should be.
>>223606956Just about every restaurant outside of fast food would shut its doors within 3 months if it lost its liquor license.
>>223607963>we used to eat hardtack so everybody should eat hardtackNigger gay faggot queer
>>223607963>let me tell you how to like your pizzaFuck off commie
>>223607743Really depends on the place and how well it's run. That's literally the point of Kitchen Nightmares. If the place is being managed well, yes. You can literally just throw some lettuce on a a plate with a couple cherry tomatoes and a 1/4 cup of salad dressing, and you got a 3-5x profit margin for that one item. The reason these places fuck up is because they let the quality slip, don't keep the place clean, people stop showing up, and they get to a point where they can't even keep the lights on
>>223607743The money they make goes to business expense. Rent, taxes, loans, overhead, wages. Middlemen (suppliers) are also currently squeezing society only buying from producers for cheap while only selling for higher and higher prices cutting into profits of both producers and retail. It's an abuse of a bottleneck. And with consumers reducing the frequency of how often they eat from public chefs, that cuts into profits as well.
