There's loads of ways to expand on that concept.
eg. The Square meets Smile
>art gallery shows off the painting
>main character is gallery curator, her boss, cheating boyfriend, and her thot friend
>random members of public go insane fter seeing the painting and it gets media attention
>gallery goes into lockdown
>people start killing themselves after looking at the painting - including boss and friend
>main girl starts hallucinating and tries to find a way to stop herself from dying
>experimental clusterfuck surreal 3rd act that ruins the film
That's one idea. But you can literally shove the general premise onto any horror structure really, including Backrooms and Obsession
