>the show introduces the viewers to an aloof, dorky, seemingly mild-mannered, harmless-looking elf girl>5 episodes in, she's blowing up body parts, chopping off arms and gently gliding down to execution grounds to slaughter every demon that she can find
>>223612102Season 2 was a dud and bafflingly short. I will still watch it if there's more but it's not really my go-to for OH SHIT moments. Now Lord of Mysteries is fucking elite.
>>223612102Go back to /a/
>>223612102They should reveal elves want a monopoly on magic and the "demons" are just humans who learned arcane arts on their own and she's a psychopath.
>>223612102>every single anime ever
>>223612102Enjoy the vacation
>>223612221you lost troon
sneedlit
>>223612146>s2 was all those things because the next arc is fuckin wild; wouldve taken a long time to animate to do it justice
>>223612102wow so edgy.I'm real impressed
>>223612146Why can't Chinks push this shit out faster?
>>223612537Doesn't change the fact that it doesn't live up to the standard set by the first season. I'm not going to drop it but it's clearly going to have quality/consistency issues. OPM also has problems, these Japanese studios really need to get their house in order. Meanwhile LoM is literal elder god-tier kino.
>>223612666They're following a ten-year road map and they've been fairly consistent so far. Every year is getting some sort of release. Compare to One Punch Man that fell off a fucking cliff with quality control and release scheduling.
>>223612554anime past 2000 is too gay, moe and lame to be edgy
>>223612554Frieren isn't edgy, she's a dork with a crush on her dead boyfriend. She just understands that demons are scum and need to be taken out.
>>223612102It's honestly an inspired choice to make the "generic fodder enemy you dont feel bad about killing" in your fantasy setting not ogres or goblins but a species of monster that resembles and mimics human behaviour. It makes the encounters much more interesting, they're actually intelligent. They also have the mystique of being called "demons" (which plays into the viewers psychology) so you wonder if there's more to them until you get rug pulled and no they're actually just purely an enemy to humanity and all need to die and based Frieren is 100% justified about killing them on-sight
