it's another attempt from charles band at making a hit "miniature monsters" movie. it's what you'd expect from full moon, kinda reminded me of hideous, so if you liked that you'll probably find some enjoyment in this
>>223646568basedI watched Whiteout to see KAte Beckinsale in the shower.
>>223646590its a half-spiritual-crossover between puppetmaster and head of the family and its kino and weird. also probably someone wanted to fuck the band girls so they gave them a shitty vhs movie.
>>223646590full moon flicks are the most lazy waste of time scam movies I've ever see. they really just didn't give a fuck and simply pumped out literal garbage with zero effort just to make a quick buck. Even Troma films put much more heart and effort into their shitty cheap flicks.
>>223646583I got Ghost Nursing recently but I haven't watched it yet.
>>223646602Unironically, zombies in Zombieland were given the justice they deserve. Actually a huge threat and the main focus of the survivors. Human drama was reduced to an acceptable level.
>>223646628>no one cares about your opinion>except the people who already responded to the post caring about said opinionLMAO retard
>>223646602He's right though. Zombies aren't scary.
>>223645593>>223646574Oops I grabbed the same image you posted and didn't realize and 4chin didn't stop me

>>223646646You’re mad.
>>223646648Only Hollywood managed to pull that feat to make them lame and not scary. To be physically active 24/7 is almost impossible and even the mundane thing like going out to find food and drink is a life threatening task. But hollywood refuses to address these things and would rather film the characters talking about their feelings instead.
>>223645652I love Radio Mommy
>>223646679This. Savini made them scary in NOTLD and Fulci made them scary in Zombie. Modern filmmakers just suck.
>>223645637S E X
>>223646679A zombie wouldn't even be able to break into my house. They're scary in movies because people are caught out or somehow the apocalypse has happened or the zombies somehow can break into homes.
>>223646713>baggy pants>not in a micro bikiniShame really
>>223646679they are unsettling, sure. the looming threat of inevitably being overrun is great for building tension. the unnatural metaphysical concepts are eerie and disorienting. theyre not spooky in any way shape or form, zombies in sex machine's NOTLD are less threatening than most. the human decisions and conflicts cause them to become a threat.
>>223646689>person is plebbit despite shitting on babadookie and redditfier You don't even make sense
>>223646748>>223646709this was also for that post but i forgot. i need to rewatch fulci's zombi/e stuff.
>>223646679I think they manage to be scary in movies but IRL I don't see how any of those movie scenarios could even happen. A Draculer is way more scarier.
>>223646737>A zombie wouldn't even be able to break into my house.Good to know you are an immortal that doesn't need to eat and drink.
I'm extremely curious what the 2026 response to Gwar will be
>>223646801How long do the zombies live? I have a couple months of food at least. Oh no I ran out of food... I get in my truck and drive to the store. The zombies slowly walk towards my truck while I drive down the street. I get scared and drive into a telephone pole for no reason. I limp out of my car and crawl into a shopping mall and meet up with some other survivors who are initially weary and distrustful of me. Oh fuck I am in a movie.
>>223646793>I don't see how any of those movie scenarios could even happen.Imagine your place being overran by rabid dogs and they put the entire country into ruin. Not so chill now aren't we?
>>223646832Sounds like what is happening to the west.

>A journey through cinema and history reveals how zombies evolved from Haitian spiritual traditions into Hollywood horror, exploring their deeper cultural significance as powerful symbols of resilience.>Zombies aren't a metaphor for anything
>>223646832>>223646801not this person but again particularly in savini's superior film>we can just walk right past them>two guys with sticks could bash all of their heads in one at a time in the course of an evening
Give me your creature kino recommendations. Just watched this and enjoyed it.
>>223646828zombies only appear when it is literal anarchy. that alone is primal scary to a lot of people. synergy
>>223646863Lake Placid of course.
>>223646852>savini's superior filmLMAO it really isn't.
>>223646849>how zombies evolved from Haitian spiritual traditionsAh yes, no one ever imagined dead people coming back to life until some witch doctors in the Caribbean came up with the idea.
>>223646889except for the very last segment it's much better
>>223646841Well the west hasn't randomly commiting cannibalism...yet.
>>223646832Zombie dogs are a lot scarier since they're fast and even a normal dog can crunch bones. But I could still run them over in my truck.Ever seen a dog break into a house or a truck?Anyway, I like zombie movies and I can immerse and get scared by them but IRL I don't think zombies are doing shit except getting ran over by traffic.
>>223646892The resurrection will be different from zombie movies. Your body won’t be rotting. Really what you see in movies is death anxiety
>>223646863Spidersquid vs Sharkigator: Extreme Swimming Pool
>>223646852>>two guys with sticks could bash all of their heads in one at a time in the course of an eveningThat's just straight up superhuman.
>>223646924Sure.I'm just calling out the "black people invented nothing so we're going to pretend they actually invented everything" that white liberals do.
>>223646929Sharktopus clears
>>223646919>I don't think zombies are doing shit except getting ran over by trafficI don't think your car can overrun like, 90% of the human population. Gasoline will soon runs out and the meat with bones stuck on the tire will soon damage it. Yeah you can survive the day, but can you survive until you die of old age? I doubt you can even survive a month if it actually happens.
>>223646937no, clubbing people with sticks is basically just subhuman. zombies are weaker, slower, dumber, etc. the hillbilly jamboree in both NOTLD films demonstrates this completely. the ONLY threat to humans in those movies is other humans. voodoo zombies are even shittier. you HAVE to turn zombies into something non-zombie to make them the slightest bit threatening.
>>223646912They are eating the cats in Minnesota.
>>223646863
>>223646804Oh shit, mom's in this?
>>223646965running over people definitely isn't going to pop a tire
>>223646965Zombie apocalypse wouldn't even be an apocalypse. Zombies would atrophy quickly and be non-threats. local law enforcement could almost certainly keep the situation under control. in fact, arguably blacks would still be more of a threat.
>>223646944I guess the notion of zombies is much older than Caribbean traditions. It should start with necromancy. The oldest superstition I know of would be the tophet mentioned in the Bible
If you wanna take this realistic approach to zombies, they'd all be dead/immobile in a few months as their muscles rot away and they get eaten by bacteria/insects/other animals. The fun of movies is suspending your disbelief.
>>223646919Hitting a cat or dog with your car can fuck it up. You're not running down 100s of people with an automobile unless you've built a giant fuck-off ram on it and strengthened the undercarriage.
>>223646983Thanks Biden
i rather enjoyed nu-carrie. it did feel like i was watching pretty little liars or a CW show in spots though.
>>223646975>zombies are weaker, slower, dumber, etc.And they are immune to pain, including their horde mentality. Classic zombies are high in numbers. Beside zombieland, most of zombies in film are very scattered. You can bash 2 or 3 of them but higher numbers than that is a problem. And unlike them, your superior human physique gets tired, thirsty, hungry, needs to take a shit and so on. Drama based zombies like The Walking Dead just convieniently ignored these issues by giving the characters random safe heavens with barrier so they can spend 20 minutes talking about their feelings.
Movie zombies are pretty clearly based on European folklore. Haitian zombies are created by voodoo priests sprinkling drugs on people to make them slaves. European revenants or draugr is where we get the zombie. Back from the dead, physical, rotting, stalking villages at night draining blood and spreading diseases. The only way to kill them is to decapitate or remove and burn the heart etc. That's a Euro zombie.
An old conception of a zombie would be the original vampire or draugr. An evil spirit possesses a corpse
>>223646863Black WaterBlack Water: Abyss
>>223647003The thing about zombies is that in classical depiction, atrophy and deterioration don't mean shit to them. They are the undead, literally rotting corpses with an appetite for human flesh. >Local law enforcementLmao. They can't even deal with random thugs day 1, let alone a giant horde of immortal cannibals.
>>223646863Razorback, it's great
>>223647013bro I drive a 4x4 truck not a geo metro on bald tires
Finished Slumber Party Massacre. It's a fun, straight to the point slasher with no messing around. I don't know why I avoided it for decades. It was directed by a woman and written by a lesbian which makes sense given how it goes. I read the sequel isn't good.
>>223647063>walking deadidk i read the first issue of the comic and then watched the first ep of the show and they were both exactly the same and boring.as for high numbers and immune to pain and human stamina that's not even an issue because cooperation. its the one thing that is guaranteed to solve all zombie problems and that is almost never attempted in any zombie movie. two guys on opposite sides of any one zombie? instantly dead zombie. to gather food or build a shelter 3+ people guaranteed to succeed and so on. but if you go to the fast zombies then youre fucked no matter what. they might as well be rabid dogs.
>>223647060So you enjoy shows for women
>>223647099Lacey1980's lingerie just hits different... I am pretty sick of spandex pants believe it or not...
>>223647095>>223647095>The thing about zombies is that in classical depictionhow come we have to treat zombies as some magical force, and not mobile flesh hungry corpses, while not treating everything else with cinema flare?Zombies not having the mobility or muscle mass to literally do anything DOES matter. They wouldn't even be able to bite after a few days. Zombies are cucked out. They're only a prevalent threat if you treat society, humanity, and literally any protective force as some sort of incompetent retard convention.
>>223647123the high-leg stuff basically disappeared while i was hitting puberty and left a void in me
>>223647135Ever notice how anyone who operates a car in a zombie movie INSTANTLY crashes it even though the zombies pose no threat to them.Cars are the ultimate anti-zombie mech.
i'm the type of zombie to get the top of its head sliced off by helicopter blades while trying to climb over some crates
>>223647099>I read the sequel isn't good.I enjoyed the sequel. But that's just me.
>>223647009Zombies are usually created by science but for all intents and purposes they're more supernatural than scientific as they don't actually require food and water to survive (they just eat humans for fun basically or to ease their pain) and can only be killed by destroying their brains. 28 Days Later is the only movie I can think of that tried making zombies actually grounded in science and that was thrown out the window in Years with the virus acting like super steroids making humans as tanky as rhinos.
>>223646944Here's what actually happens>Black people invent thing>White people copy it and take the credit
>>223647149bro you could just push them over lmao
Just finished Amityville: the Next Generation. Very good and sovl
>>223647099Did you figure out the metaphor of the drill?
>>223647165wow a day before my birthday. it's entirely possible this was watched while i was pooped out
>>223647118Atleast with rabid dogs, you can get more chances of surviving because dogs have plenty of biologicial weaknesses. You can throw them chocolate and they will drop dead like flies. Zombies as an issue is a much bigger deal if Hollywood movies tone down the muh feelings stuff abit.
>>223647166well 28 days later is just mega rabies and rabies is scary as fuck.
>>223647202i know a dog that consumed an entire bag of halloween chocolate and was fine. wrappers and all. he just got the shits
i have a fetish for violins [and cellos but that's a different story] and vhs mixtape is giving me boner
>>223647238How do you have a fetish for a musical instrument?Like do you want to fuck it? Do you want to fuck a girl while she plays one?
>>223647238Where are you watching VHS Mixtape?
>>223647217Samson not only surviving the horde of zombies in the train car for hours but barely even being phased by it makes it no longer just super rabies though lmao
>>223647245All of the above and more
>>223647238Have you seen The Town That Dreads Sundown?
>>223647260Fascinating.What arouses you most about them?
>>223647268get a room you two
Ok. Finished Slumber Party Massacre and looking on Amazon for other slashers I haven't seen or don't remember. So far I'm deciding between Prom Night, Graduation Day, and The Prowler. I'd watch Tenebrae again but it's cut by 10 minutes. And I'd watch The Burning but it's cut by 3 or 4 minutes. Going outside for a smoke and I'll decide when I come back in but looking like Prom Night so far.
>>223647185In European folklore revenants and draugrs can spread disease so I wouldn't get close to them. If I made a zombie movie and you shoved my zombo it would just vomit bile on you and your flesh would melt. Maybe the virus spreads from the disease and not bites?
>>223647231i think its largely just the low % of actual chocolate in mass produced candy chocolate. my family dog, 30lbs, also ate an entire bag. just puked it up and tried to eat it again.
>>223647279Come on it's not every day you see someone who wants to fuck a violin.
>>223647255Samson is more like an overman because the virus mutated him into a gigachad.
>>223647255idk anything about that shit, not going to watch but they feel like non-sequels just stealing the name.
>>223647268I fuck men too.
>>223647238Don't touch my drumset
>>223647295yeah, thats why you use a stick.
it's kind of absurd tubi is so stupidly instantaneously fast you can just surf the similar recommended films side bar scrubbing through Z grade recent releases just to check out their vibe and somehow they all look the same
>>223647336wow those all look like complete dogshit. you should watch them
>>223647295>Maybe the virus spreads from the disease and not bites?I believe most of zombie films implied that the virus spread through either air, food or water which even the law enforcement and military caught it too. The surviving human simply partially immuned and it takes a zombie bite to make the infection more violent and weaken the immune system.
>>223647356You wouldn’t understand them
>>223647196Happy birthday anon, in case you're not here that day.
>>223647336i like to call this genre '4 niggas in a room'
>>223647366I think the Romero series implies that there is no disease. Biting doesn't spread anything but regular human-killing things. All dead rise from the grave.
>>223647336Watch every one of those and report back your findings
>>223647335Good plan, I will be in the truck with GNAR KILL and RX-78NT-1 crudely spray painted on it.
>>223647383The 90 remake retconned that. Tony Todd became a zombie in the ending.
>>223647336I can vouch for Livescream and its sequel, they're pretty good.
>>223647319Tbh I liked Boyle's film more than Da Costa's. Bone Temple legit has less zombies in it but people were so mad that Years didn't focus on Aaron Taylor Johnson for more than 30 minutes and the Power Rangers finale that they lie constantly about that movie and pretend Bone Temple has more zombie scenes in it. It's like nobody remembered Spike had a Power Rangers toy in the beginning of the movie or got that it's his coming-of-age story which Bone Temple completely neglected to follow through on after Spike gets initiated into the Jimmies gang.
>>223647412I always just assumed he died from the multiple gunshots. Still do.
>>223647383NOTLD definitely just left it ambiguous idk about the others
Watched Hollywood Chainsaw HookersPeak 80s coomer kino. Lots of nudity. The Linnea Quigley and Michelle Bauer battle scene with chainsaws at the end was kino.
>>223647417Bone Temple feels like a TWD episode. There is a random safe heaven with a psychotic leader and a survivor managed to get by from a strange, non lethal method.

>>223646313>how much action is too much action for horror?I don't think it's as simple as that desu. At what point does action go from tense but exhilarating to tense and scary? Because there's a pretty big difference between Aliens/Predator and something like Die Hard/Speed, and I think that if action can be tenseless and funny ie. action comedy, then it can also be tense and scary because they're just different ends of the spectrum where action thrillers sort of occupy the middle. Chase scenes like in a slasher movie is probably the easiest example of a scary action scene but what about when characters fight back against the threats can it still be scary then?I think almost every action scene in Aliens is scary, whereas in Predator the first big action scene against the guerilla camp is obviously exhilarating, but everything involving the Predator is scary.I'd say the original Die Hard is actually a bit scary at times because John McClane is just a regular guy and he has to hide and sneak around taking each terrorist out one by one unlike the later movies but it's ultimately still firmly in the thriller territory, but what about The Raid then? The director conceived it as a legit martial arts horror flick and it is scarier than Die Hard even though it also gets categorized as an action thriller because it has human enemies so I guess monsters make a pretty big difference for people, and it further illustrates the issue isn't actually whether or not the protagonist is powerful or weak either. Iko Uwais is very strong and capable in the movie, a lot more than John McClane in Die Hard, but he visibly gets more and more exhausted and actually slows down as the movie progresses from the constant fighting and stress from hiding and he is vastly outnumbered in most of the film. He's so exhausted by the end he needs help from his obviously weaker little brother to take on Mad Dog whereas I think he could've probably solo'd him in the beginning and won.

>>223648532the setting is nice and creepy. i wish we had more trapped in a skyscraper horror. i was hoping colony would deliver that but that movie dropped the ball on all fronts.
>>223648417>>223648455That's why the most kino zombie plots are like Resident Evil. It's a bioweapon that changes a bunch of people suddenly and or you're in a remote location far from home with no resources or backup and all of a sudden you encounter a bunch of zombos. NOTLD kind of works because cars and houses had shitty thin windows back then and cars were pretty damn unreliable and a lot of people didn't even have them.
>>223648455Movies aren't real life though and your argument is precisely why zombie media usually skips past the beginning of the apocalypse to when nearly everyone is already dead or infected. We don't need to know the finer details because of suspension of disbelief so instead we get hints at how it could've happened through witnessing the downfall of the survivor groups in the movies. I don't even think it's that far fetched that humanity goes extinct to a zombie apocalypse considering how the Covid pandemic was handled by both civilians and the government. Humans are largely dumb selfish and emotional creatures.

>>223648555>NOTLD kind of works because cars and houses had shitty thin windows back then and cars were pretty damn unreliable and a lot of people didn't even have them.It takes place in 1968. What are you talking about? Cars and houses were built tougher back then. Did you think it took place decades earlier because of the black and white?

>>223648611In 1968 20% of households did not own a single car and only 20% of households owned more than one car. And the cars were shitty and broke down a lot and the tires were very very very shitty and got flats often compared to modern cars and tires. Thats' what I meant.
>>223648566Well the point was "they aren't just scary in movies"But they are only scary in moviesIn real life, more people would die in arguments over who gets to kill the one zombie they found than would be killed by zombies themselves, because thanks to media and common sense, the average person's first reaction to seeing a visibly dead person stumbling around would be kill it without hesitation
>>223648555Resident Evil works more because the zombies are a side effect of the virus, accompanied by much stronger bioweapons that were designed to fight elite military units. The files in Resident Evil 2 where the cops talk about how fucked they were when they ran into the licker solves the problem of "how could everything collapse just because of some zombies?" The zombies just complicate things and screw the general public up, while the armed forces crumble to stronger monsters
