She's a hostage in the second tri-wizard round and Harry grabs her: he made an embarassing assumption saving someone elses hostage. Both of them privately wrestle with the unconfortable concept that they're attracted to each other against all odds, Harry's still somewhat pining for Cedra but to his utter disbelief Draceana has caught up. They have some encounters alone dotted along the school year, and each one involves less insult trading and shittalking each other's friends than the previous one. Just a few days before the final Tri-Wizard round they find the Mirror of Erised again and it's an almost exact re-do of first year, except this time they both get embarassed.

They've been the newest centerpiece of Hogwarts' Gryffindor v. Slytherin hatred since they put on the Sorting Hat, but now everyone around them hates each other in no small part due to their actions while they've become the only exception instead.

Events unfold the same way, afterwards Harry and Draceana have a massive falling out over Sirius being killed, Lucius being sent to Azkaban and all the secrets that were being kept. Tragically if they had buried the hatchet earlier they might have built a stronger trust and love but they just weren't given enough time to develop something that could survive this.

Ron intuits that Voldemort probably has the Malfoy family under his rule after Lucius screwed up big time and Draceana was given orders she can't refuse.A small spark of hopium reignites in Harry that doesn't die even after the book's climax; while he's convinced his connection with Draceana is irreparably ruined, if Voldemort is defeated at least he might still be able to save her.

Voldemort's tricks made him a master of the wand, but didn't remove it's allegiance to it's previously legitimately made master. When Draceana gave Harry her own normal wand out of the desire to keep him safe, it was a covenant that made the Elder Wand to consider both of them it's owners and Voldemort's demands were outvoted two to one. Harry and Draceana marvel at the Elder Wand, until she says Harry has already lived all his life with a target on his back and she doesn't want to see any more of it, and they break it.
