First for Leaving D.C.
>>223756507>Half of the second film is just a recap of the firstJaps do this a lot for some reason, especially when it comes to anime. They'll do a season, then make a movie which is literally just the season but cut differently so it fits into a movie format. But the worst part is it will include a couple of new scenes, so if you're a big fan of the IP, you have to watch it.Boggles the mind why they do this.
Onslaught is so woke, you have to be some low iq liberal loser to enjoy it.
what's the matter big guy, you sacred? come on in

I remember horror shorts being pretty cool back when I was a teen, but nowadays I tried to watch some and they are all the same shit, did I change or horror shorts are shit now?

Is it sacrilegious pointing out how much more attractive Caroline Williams is than the two women in the original TCM, even though that film is considerably better? She reminds me of five different actresses I'm a fan of:>her crazy eyes remind me of Henstridge and Stef Joosten>at certain angles, her face/haircut bear resemblance to Daria Nicolodi + Francoise Hardy>sounds exactly like 70s/80s Debra WingerThat deep, raspy chainsmokin' southern twang is so damn sexy coming out of a temperamental leggy cutie, especially when Stretch constantly does that guttural scream in the second half.
>>223761287>that zesty coverThink I might have to skip this one boss
>>223761298Zoomers invented something called "analog horror" which is just garbage where nothing happens and then at some point there's a crude spooky face with a VHS filter on it.They consider this the height of horror for some reason.

>>223761289Some of the acting and shots at the start of the film is really amateurish, but as it went on I was won over. The ending is disappointing as a gut response, but the more you learn the more it makes you want to rewatch it.
Please recommend me more trippy 70s movies with synthesizer soundtracks.I've already seen Picnic At Hanging Rock and Suspiria

>>223761298a) all shorts used to be better because they used to require learning how to use actual equipment and editing things by hand, etc. the bar to entry for "filmmaking" is so low now that it was impossible for average quality not to plummet.b) people make horror shorts to try and kickstart their film careers, not because they have drive. it's the film equivalent of getting a summer job at McDonald's, not something done out of passion.
>>223761233Belial wins. Fatality.
>>223761420No thanks, already watched like 6 of them and they are all super lame compared to Suspiria. I'm sure I'll get eaten alive for this opinion but they seem more like crime thrillers to me than horror. Also they aren't trippy.

Onslaught = middle aged post wall aged out single mom roastoe beating genetically enhanced super soldiers.
The instant karma of stumbling into a river on your crutches and then getting eaten alive by rats after you drowned a sack of cats is very humorous. Pretty enjoyable, glad that these movies now have average runtimes and I don't have pay as much attention to the plots anymore. Most brutal film yet in regards to the female cast and it's amazing that the big showstopper moment was a doofy skeleton prop but it worked. I kinda figured this was connected to Suspiria before the film ended in almost exactly the same way. Weird that Tenebrae isn't the third film considering the proximity of release and the title, sure.>>223761233Ginger Snaps vs Basketcase would be a fun schlocky crossover.

Done with Onslaught, the other anon was right, the first 20 minutes are a waste of time and they add nothing to the movie, but after that the movie is pretty good, but then again, the final part is very lackluster to say the least, they did such a good job hyping up the bad guys for them to be dealt with in the lamest ways, they could have at least got a couple more characters in the good guys side to play with but no, would really enjoy a movie like this but with an actually cool last chapter.

Just finished. 100<100 #16Another attempt at doing WNUF, but barely. This one is older than I expected, from 2015. It starts with a text crawl explaining we're about to see a preserved broadcast from 1979 that ended in a massacre, then it jumps into a clown introducing the main program with lots of digitally added vhs glitches. Then we get three horrible shorts that were clearly shot without this project in mind. That's the thing that kills me about modern horror anthologies. Outside of a handful I can think of pre-2000, anthology segments were usually SHOT FOR the movies they ended up in, but these days we're glutted with "anthologies" that are just a handful of pre-existing amateur shorts jimmied into feature by adding a framing device. They even throw a couple of fake commercials in here, but there is zero of the verisimilitude of WNUF. It's an ineffective, uninteresting hodgepodge.
>>223762398this is a surprisingly resourceful shot from the first story, about a werewolf. they don't bother trying to explain how a werewolf would explain this happening, but whatever, it's a cool effect.
>>223762413this is from the second segment, a very lame sitcom parody about a family where the men are serial killers. when this mom popped up I almost did an irl spittake. this is the only movie she's been in.

SPOILERS Just finished Passenger, like the reviews said it had some decent jumpscares, and the middle of the movie was the best part with the building tension and the atmosphere was genuinely creepy. It kind of jumped the shark at the end with all the action, but it was still enjoyable. I’m actually quite surprised it was a happy ending, I was sure the boyfriend was going to die but they both survived. Everything had a payoff; the saint christopher stuff, the hobo signs, the gps, etc. the ending was just a bit generic and wasn’t all that spooky. The movie was best in the middle when it was just building tension and the atmosphere was spooky. Overall I’d give it a 3/5, not offensively bad but not great either. >>223762075jokes on you, nobody loses their leg in this movie, the guy injures his leg but never loses it, you tried to spoil me but clearly all the drugs and alcohol over the course of your miserable life has ruined your memory

It’s people like you that bring life to these communities, and I’m thankful for the opportunity to speak to you tonight. If you have any further complaints I’d be happy to hear them, or if you want, I can redirect them to my manager so that your voice can be heard in these trying times. I understand your frustration and I want you to know that we care about you and value your opinion. thanks for posting, and have a wonderful night
>>223763642I already know how to do that since I’ve been here since 2007 but thanks for posting
>>223763620it was originally a 30 minute short, the longer version is better.>>223763710so you DID post spoilers intentionally without spoiler tags just to get people to react to your post?
>>223763385reanimator just is better in every way, on paper i think they're a bit closer but the execution of reanimator is so so so much better than it should have turned out. everything about it strikes the perfect balance of gore and horror and comedy. jeff combs never gave a better performance an david hale was as great an antagonist as anyone could hope for. from beyond was not very well executed on any level but the concept is still fantastic.
>>223763723or maybe I just didn’t feel like using a spoiler tag because it takes a bit to type it out and my method worked perfectly fine without it, but thanks for posting I appreciate you
>>223763742it doesnt really take that long to type out. what else do you have going on? you seem to be typing out a lot of extra words about how much you appreciate everyone so i think you have time.
Just watched The Hoodoos.Honestly this was probably one of the best horror movies I've seen in my life no I'm just kidding it fucking sucks.
>>223763742>Please make use of the spoiler image checkbox and spoiler tags. Purposeful spoiling of a series or movie is not allowed.
>>223763764>Honestly this was probably one of the best horror movies I've seen in my life no I'm just kidding it fucking suckshow am i supposed to parse these mixed signals
>>223763742>it takes a bit to type it outif you're not on mobile, just select the text and hit ctrl+s.
Just watched Maniac Cop.Tom Atkins is a very underrated guy in the genre. I thought he was great in Night of the Creeps and Halloween 3, and here, too. He doesn't get enough credit.
>>223763625the queen of /hor/
>>223763760you make a good point, and honestly, I’m thankful to have your perspective on this discussion, we all benefit from having a variety of views on this touchy subject, you truly are an empathetic and compassionate poster and I respect the concerns you have about my conduct in these threads. While I still believe that my spoiler method actually superior to the traditional method, since the black bit just encourages people to click on it due to our inherent curiosity, I think it’s great to have differing opinions and the freedom to disagree. We all benefit from the discourse, and quite frankly, we’re both better people for having this conversation. I want you to know that your feedback has been considered, and as always, thanks for posting
>>223763764>Voodoo?
>>223763799The Fog too
>>223763778people spoil movies all the time in these threads and never use the spoiler tags, and I could give you multiple examples in this thread alone of people not using spoiler tags, so it seems a bit disingenuous that you’ve focused on my post, which actually contained a spoiler warning, rather than the numerous posts beforehand which spoiled movies and had no warning or spoiler tag at all, but thanks for posting, appreciate
>>223763799I love Tom, but I think he gets exactly enough credit.fun fact: my boss met him at a con and says he's like 5'4. I don't know who to believe on that one.
Anyone watched S3 finale of Creep Tapes? Pretty good.
>>223761289I thought it was really good, but the ending was lackluster. Not bad, just not good.
>>223763060
>>223763880>GO GO POWER RANGERS!>guitar shredding
>>223763812hehe
>>223763802Just watched Scream 4 partly for she.Considering watching American Horror Story for she. Never seen it before and it seems kinda gay. There's also The Blackcoat's Daughter and Abandoned but I glanced at the trailers and they kind of looked like fake horrors about a woman being crazy from trauma or something. Hopefully I am wrong about that.
>>223763834There are two kinds of people. Those who don't give Tom Atkins enough credit, and those who have seen Skeezer.
>>223763907What really impressed me with this movie was the soundtrack. I was especially shocked to hear Iron Maiden and Motorhead.
>>223764035Some people hated it, and I get why, but to me it hit the spot. The Maiden especially.
>>223763974AHS is definitely worth watching; you don’t necessarily have to see every season, as only some of them are connected. If you want to get a feel for it, you could try the spin-off, which consists mostly of standalone episodes. The spin-off is called *American Horror Stories*. I recommend episode 6 ("Feral"), about feral people in the Appalachians, and episode 5 ("Baal"), which is about demons (you can skip the rest of the first season of *Stories*, as it’s not very good).Alternatively, I’d suggest the first part of the tenth season, titled *Double Feature*, it’s only 6 episodes long and is really great
>>223764048It's like a fan video on youtube when she's running around to Maiden lolI love it though I've even seen Goblin, Maiden, and Motorhead live. Even saw Maiden with Motorhead.
>>223761430this whole massacre is abslutely insane and one of the greatest in cinema
>>223764084idk if you know Rhapsody of Fire but this song features the Phenomena theme. It was driving me crazy watching the film because the theme was already so familiar.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UUFLgoDU6vc
>>223761463this ?https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WeBNxJmqVVAit sucked
>>223764110its fine. not great.
Halfway through Exorcist II. Badly written man. But, to contrast with Amityville Horror, better filmed. And all the women were very attractive.
