>>223776643
Yes, in general HK horror is really fun, feels like a whole industry built on making horror films that all have the Evil Dead energy.

not even on some simp shit, but Scream 4 had some of the best acting in the series with Emma Roberts. There are several layers to her character and she nails it. Big Picture Pod did a full re-ranking of the series and had the Jenna Ortega movies AND Scream 3 over this. I just couldn't believe it.

>>223776719
Maybe because save for the last 15 minutes it's fucking dogshit?
>>
>>223776707
No, that's not a party bus. What happened is that the main characters are at a club, the lead actress's character is the husband of the guy running the club. Those two characters get into a heated argument, the husband drives off, and then it turns out that the husband was the one who ran over the Deadite who then brutally murders the shit out of the husband.
It had a confusing intro but it generally picked up after that. Its similar to Rise in that its a bunch of family members being possessed by Deadites into killing each other, but I do remember preferring Burn since it felt less like a one-off.

Quick /hor/ bros, need more fun 80's hair metal themes for 80's horror in the vein of Dream Warriors and Alice Cooper's He's Back (The Man Behind The Mask), takes me back to the good times of 80's horror, walking into the local party store around Halloween blasting metal with the smell of latex everywhere and copies of Fangoria next to the counter.

It felt like I was watching something illegal.
It's so well made and well acted but it is NOT for everyone. At the end it said "based on the book by Aldous Huxley", is that book as crazy as this movie? And how accurate is it to the supposed historical events its based on?

The opening dream/nightmare sequence is incredible though. The shot of Michael Berryman climbing into the main character's back was insane, surrealist imagery, reminded me of Jan Å vankmajer stop motion films.

Can't speak for any social incohesive autists or anons not caring about much anymore and pissing into whatever thread because who cares. But I've seen it all, and what I haven't seen yet I don't care to. There's no more to discuss, there's no more to look forward to, movies are a closed book in my life. I come here to try and remember what it felt like to watch something and enjoy it on any level at all, but no, even that gets tedious and feels like a chore.
>>
>>223779944
It gets better the more I watch it. The first time I saw it, it felt unintentionally campy. Now that I've seen a decent number of Tobe Hooper's films, it's 100% intentional camp. Also Henry Mancini's bouncy, tonally dissonant score is a favorite of mine. Felt like he thought it was a sci-fi adventure film and not sci-fi horror.

Kek. Coming to think of it, the 'tard factor + not very good acting makes the movie a bit more creepy for me, idk why. Another good and creepy tardcore horror is Possum. Both Possum and The Evil Within messed with my sanity for a few days, it fucked me up. Maybe I shouldn't be smoking weed and watching those.

Just watched The Dead Don't Die.
God, what a frustrating movie. For every bit that worked, there were two or three that fell flat or were bungled at the conceptual level.
It's like it can't tell if it wants to be a straightforward classic zombie movie, a decontrstruction, or outright parody. So it decides to just be all 3 and never get the tone right for any part of it.
Can't imagine ever watching this again when I could watch Return of the Living Dead instead.

I have not watched a single scream movie, and I've seen scary kovie 1-3, and I'm 35.
The mask of Scream seemed stupid. The plot of them pointing out horror movies are stupid seems stupid, and by the time it came out slashers were out and over done. The way I saw it, by the late 90s you either were an established slasher like Halloween, Friday the 13th, A Nightmare on Elm Street or Chucky or you didn't bother.
>>

I think Scary Movie is the reason I never went back and watched Scream. Just like how The Simpsons and literally everything else making Godfather and Pulp Fiction references ruined those movies for me before I was even old enough to be interested in watching them.

Do I want to watch Scream 1-3 now that the dust has settled and I am a desiccated corpse?
>>
>>223781287
i would say yes and i think you will notice terrible bits in 1&2 that are super outdated and some that were never funny. it's an interesting time capsule that still mostly works. 3 stole the franchise from wayanses and became a zucker joint, can and should be watched any time any place.
